was walking back home from my local at 3, and quite tanked with castle and windhoek when i was almost mugged.
they are now using pepper spray to blind you! the stuff hurts more than hell on earth so just giving you people a shout to be careful.

Some friends of ours in SA will not go fishing without a hired armed guard, and there is at least 1 death a week on the beaches from mugging.

They want to come back here, but they cant :(

Seems to be the fashion, some skinny kid tried to mug me last night on the way back from the pub.

But I have family in SA and they tell me it's going to hell in a handbasket over there.

I remember one time a friend and I had left the pub late at night and could not find his car. We were plastered and I was getting steamed that my mate could not remember where he had parked. I realized that a gang was following us through an alley and told my mate. We kept walking and stopped just for a moment to pickup some bricks then we turned about, screamed at them and hurled the bricks at them and charged. The gang fled. We chased them quite a ways and finally managed to catch a couple of them. Luckily for them we spotted my mate's car and let them go after giving them a serious talk about what would happen if we ran across them again. The point being is if you are in an unsafe area you should not travel alone.

I feel your pain mate,over 2 years ago me and my family were held up and robbed overnight while on holiday. Needless to say the next day we left, came back home and had an alarm system installed. Haven't been able to sleep well since then.
