Anybody have an idea how much these materials would cost? Me and a couple of my friends (all of us very proficient in engineering) are planning on teaming up with our engineering teacher to build one of these suits. We just need to know how much it would cost for the materials, and if we could get it done on time for Halloween.

I heard that it cost them about $150 to do those each. I can't recall where though.

These guys have some vids out on the net. They said they kept the overall cost down by making most of it out of recycled garbage. But they said in total it cost around $200 and took 1 year and three months to build (for both suits). And yes it would be amazing to play paintball in.

I wonder if you couldn't do something similar out of the 'blue barrels' that some of the SCA guys use to make armor. I know that stuff is SUPER cheap.
