and
-modeltanks(non gw, for conversions)

because i keep looking for shops on the net but can't find any in Melbourne...

Hobby Place --- it is on Londsdale, just a few doors down from Melbourne Central.

Also Melbourne Hobby Centre on Swanston, near KFC from memory (so down near Flinders St station).

Also to check out is Hearns Hobbies in Flinders st (down towards Queen st). Model train shop mainly, but has sheet styrene (don't call it plasticard) by Evergreen (big manufacturer with white and green logo) and rod/tubing as well as brass/aluminium and other stuff.





Edit: Live in Newcastle, but have been travelling to melb for over 22 years, and was shown where the 'hobby shops' were by some mates down there in the hobby scene.

the three big ones in the cbd have already been mentioned; but there are so many around.

The easiest way to find plasticard is at a bunnings or mitre10; just buy some thin signs (ala 'no parking' or other such comedy numbers).
