Frightnening Fiend of Slaanesh

I have been reading through a lot of force list discussions and tactics for CSM. I have not seen any discussion about having your character mounted, lots of winged characters. I am building a Slaanesh CSM army and was thinking about mounting my Slaanesh Sorcerer. My thought is using Lash to pull apart the enemies battle line and after shooting the unit with Sonic Blasters using Fleet of Foot to get him into melee with said unit (the +1 attack for mounted is helpful).

I have been away from 40k for many years, played 1st and 2nd edition so I have very little knowledge about 5th edition. I am not asking if a mounted Sorcerer is tops in tournaments, but more what are the pro’s and con’s. Since I will mostly be playing friendly games at the local club, will I get laughed out of the place if I field a mounted Sorcerer? What are people’s experiences?

In reading through the forums I see a lot of people use dual Lash with template weapons. I am going to try a different approach, while I will have Lash, I am not going to field a lot of template weapons (other than the Blast in the NM squad and the Heavy Flamer in the termies). My thought was to use lash to pull units to within 24” of my NM and Sonic Blast them away, or push their heavy weapon teams back through cover so they have to spend their next turn moving back into position instead of firing, or to push/pull assault units to break up their coordination.

Thanks in advance for the advice,
Chris

Winged Characters can get into vehicles with no penalties.

Mounts have various penalties, from double wide seats to just not allowed to get in.

Lone Characters (like the one you were describing in your first paragraph) are frowned upon cause they get instant killed pretty easily.

If you want Lash info, go to Bell of Lost Souls and look for the Lash tatica, it's a pretty good overview.
Though I wouldn't call it a friendly thing to bring in lash though...highly dependent though.

Mounts are for fun and modeling really.

Juggy: nice combat boost.
problem: can only footslog.

Palaquin: nice durability.
problem: takes 2 seats and doesn't do anything vs. instant death.

Seeker: nice combat reach.
problem: nothing useful (spawn) has the same movement speed to actually protect him along the way, unless you bury him in a squad to only then detach him, but that's just asking for a dead character.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Mounts tend to just be for if you want to have fun making your character look better. The upgrades they give arn't really worth the points. It you have a mounted character sometimes your opponent will panic and shoot everything at the character because they think the mount makes them really powerful, the advantage is they arn't shooting at any of your other troops who are probably alot better than your character
