hmm not sure. Don't the rules for flamers state that you have to cover as much of the targetted unit as possible. It the OP moves the far end of the template to the left or right to catch a corner he covers more of the targetted vehicle and may miss the second one.

You have to cover as many MODELS oif the target unit as possible. Once the template hits the vehicle you have satisifed this as it is a binary state for single vehicles.

You can do this as, as previously said, the rules say that you must have as many models as possible under the template. In this case, wouldn't it mean that you have to shoot them both?

You have to have as many models in the TARGET covered, not "models" in general.

Would you be able to get LoS to the second vehicle, or would the one directly in front of the Exarch be blocking it?

It doesnt matter - you are only concerned with hitting your target as far as LOS requirements are concerned.

Under the template rules, "Against vehicles, the template must be placed to cover as much of the vehicle as possible without also touching a friendly model."

So the template must be angled to cover as much of the vehicle as possible.

So unless you crack out the calculus books, you just have to eyeball it. So while it CAN happen, it doesn't often happen.
