Hi guys, been playing about with eldar and have come up with 2 lists. I have played with both and they both work ok but I havn't had a chance to have a huge amount of games and opponents are not really tournament style opponents.

THese will be for a tournament next month.

Any comments/improvements? Which one is better vs all opponents?

Cheers

LIST 1

Farseer
Bike
RWa
RWi
Stones
For/Doom/Guide
Spears

5 Locks
Bikes
emb
enh
3 Destructor
2 Spears

(the spears are for AT and have worked so well so far)

Autarch
Bike
Laser Lance
Fusion Gun
Mandiblasters
--------------------
7 Dragons
WS W/ TL BL & Stones
--------------------
5 DA
WS W/ TL BL & Stones

5 DA
WS W/ TL BL & Stones

3 GBJ w/ SCan (these just hide and occasionally snipe)
----------------------
Prism
Prism
Prism

LIST 2

Farseer
Bike
RWa
RWi
Stones
For/Doom/Guide
Spears

6 Locks
Bikes
emb
enh
4 Destructor
2 Spears

Eldrad

---------------------------------

10 DA - WS w/ TL BL & Stones
10 DA - WS w/ TL BL & Stones
3 GBJ - 76
-----------------------------
Prism
Prism
3 Walkers w/ Twin SLs

Plan is eldrad sits at the back doing his thing & council go cause problems and serve as 2nd AT

So, any comments on which is best or improvements?

IMHO the first list seems better. Ive recently advised a friend on the topic of a 1700points tournament list. We came up with the following:

Farseer - Fortune, RoW, Jetbike
6 Warlocks - Embolden, Enhance, 3 Destructor, 3 Spear, Jetbikes
Autarch - Jetbike, Laser Lance, Mandiblaster

11 DA - Exarch, SS/PW, Bladestorm
WS, EML
11 DA - Exarch, SS/PW, Bladestorm
WS, EML
3 GJB - ShCannon

6 Firedragons
Falcon - Scatterlaser
Fire Prism
Fire Prism

This list fits in 1700pnts IIRC and has more bodies to claim objectives with and greater volume of fire from the DA to deal with hordes.

Just to give some food for thought.

Cilithan

Fiery the angels fell; deep thunder rolled around their shores; burning with the fires of Orc.

Armies:
Daemons: 5000+ points
CSM/Black Legion: 5000+ points
Deathwatch/Knights: 5000 points

Yep, pretty similar.

Despite my love for the Autarch to join the council for lazer lance love, this kind of turns them into a pure combat unit rather than a burning/mop up unit.

Also, I prefer dragons in Serpents as they want to get into melta range (ofc) and the serpents can use their field rules

Question (Im an Eldar-noob). If the Autarch is attached to the Seercounsil when the Farseer Fortunes the unit but subsequently leaves it, does it then retain its rerolled saves?

Ofcourse a WS in stead of the Falcon is fine (may indeed even be better), the point I tried to make was mainly that I think it would be an improvement to buff the DA squads.

Good luck with your list mate.

Absolutely and I appreciate to comments. It's a PITA to decide on how to run it.

Yep, autarch get rerolls too

I actually have been using 2x FP, 1x F (with dragons in) but I have been running into issues with points as I have had to use pimped up Holo falcons

Plus, str7, large blast, reroll scatter (guide) and TL just seems so much fun on the rare times it's useful.

Emboldened Warlock

Groningen

For 1700 points I have come up with:

5x DA
Falcon-Scatter Laser

5x DA
Falcon-Scatter Laser

6x Warlock + Eldrad
2x Destructor, 3x Spear, 1x Enhance
Wave Serpent - BL

7x DA
Wave Serpent - BL

1x Farseer, bike+fortune
6x Warlock, bike, enhance, embolden, 3x Destructor, 3x Spear

Eldrads WS close to the Falcons, guiding both tanks. Bikecouncil stop stuff that needs to be stopped. Midgame Eldrad can step out to do some CC with his locks. Downside of this list is 3 of useless small DA squads, but you have 50 points more to spend.
No Fire Dragons, I figuered theres nothing that Dragons do that Warlocks can't do equally good? Hopefully with Eldrad it can be a more all-round, durable usefull unit.

I would equip the war walkers with Shurican Cannons instead, makes them much better per ponit.

Difficult using a 24" gun on a 10 armor open-topped vehicle. Too close to enemy for what it's worth.

2012 tourney record:
Eldar 18W-2L-5D Overall x4
Deathwing 21W-7L-6D Overall x4 Best General x1 Best Appearance x3, 19th place Adepticon 40k Champs.
Space Wolves 2W-0L-1D Best Painted x1

Armies:
1850+ pts. 3000+ pts. 2000+

QFT

Even the 36" is a push with the rest of the army.
