I've just opened my first Tactical Squad and I've found that I can't atatch the handles of the Marine's boltguns to their right hands, the hands don't have any sort of notch for the handle to sit in like the left hand does. This is very confusing and frustrating, please help!

Another thing, the Tactical Squad box didn't come with any options for a heavy bolter, plasma cannon, lascannon or mult-melta, only a missile launcher, is that normal?

It's normal those other weapons come in other boxes like the Devistators, it's kind of annoying though.

For the guns, you cut off the handles, I think the reason they make them with the handles is incase you want to use them as a decoration.

If you look closely at the right hand it alread has the handle in it.

Yes, thats why they do that. Its the same for pretty much all the armies. So if you model them differently, you can still sling the gun and your mini will still be WYSIWYG

Like others have mentioned, razor knife and super glue.

I've found it works best to stick the "Grip" hand on first, then line up the supporting left hand at the elevation/direction you want the gun pointing, then finally finishing by setting the gun itself. If you're not careful with how you line things up things can look pretty wonky. It's not difficult, but if you're spacing out and doing a squad assembly-line style...

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Also you should note the details in each arm. There are "lined", "dotted", and "plain" arms. Lined right arm goes with lined left arm etc. If you try to use different arms, the gun won't go to the arms well.

Forever a pone.

Yeah, you have to use matching pairs of arms (if you want both hands to hold the bolter). The same is true of the Chaos marines.

Thanks, should I just attatch the boltguns now, or after I've painted them? They may not be painted for quite some time.

AFTER YOU PAINT.
My first hundred minis suffered from this. it is far FAR easier to paint partially assembled models. Generally I paint the legs + torso, then attach the head and paint it, paint the arms off the model, and then pin everything together.

Good thing I only attatched two boltguns so far that are in the way of the Aquillas, that was a lot of trouble I had with the Black Reach Marines. I'm trying to keep their boltguns held as low as possible. I still haven't figured out the "lined" and "dotted" arms yet, but so far everything is going fine.

Yeah, for marines I always paint the arms and bolters (and shoulder pads too) separately BEFORE gluing them to the torso - so much easier.
