Im starting a new SW army this saturday (3/10/09. When there released) My plan was to Start of with a pack of BloodClaws Or GH. And a SP commander OFC. Any other ideas?

I havnt seen the new dex for them, but I always suggest starting out with the basic troops and maybe a HQ choice. Helps get you into the ways of painting them and over all just liking the foot sloggers

What was unfriendly about that?

Huh? I just suggested that, as this wasn't a question about rules, then the rules forum isnt the best place for it. WHich is an appropriate response, and not rude.

I'm sure he will figure it out. He must be bright if he is playing SW.

The SW troop box is good. Get two of those and build them as Greyhunters and/or Bloodclaws (I prefer GHs but YMMV). You can even build an HQ out of that box if you want (Wolf Lord or WGBL).
Get a rune priest. Very versatile.

Next, start picking transports for your troops. Rhinos or drop pods. If you decide rhinos, I recommend getting the Razorback. Don't glue the tophatch down (just glue the two tophatch doors together to form one piece) and you can easily swap it between RB and Rhino.

Then start looking at what Elite, FA, Heavy and other HQ you want. May want to pick up a third Troop, too.

If he comes back following the somewhat abrupt message he (or she) received on posting, tactics is a perfect place for this question, you can explain troop choices and their uses in the game.

Apologies for the brusque welcome you seem to have gotten here OP, we aren't all like that. Hopefully some Space Wolf players here can advise you on choices for your army, Gwar! is knowledgeable on the army (iregardless of our own disagreements, he does know the army) and will be well positioned to tell you what's hot and what's not.

Ignore BC grab minimal GH get some longfangs and thunderwolves and /pwn IMHO.

If you want to run a BC foot horde grab Bjorn + Emperors Tarot inquisitor to lead the army.

I reccomend www.yesthetruthhurts.com and look under his spacewolf section, lots of fun lists created and some review of all the units made recently that might help you.
