Just a quick test for painting my khorne warriors in my WoC army... What do you guys think? Im going to be stripping this guy and redoing it along with my squad after I figure out if this will look good or not but I wanted your guys opinion... I started off priming him with a red gloss primer (didnt mean to get the gloss but oh well) then did the fur khemri (i think thats the wierd looking brown foundation paint) brown, metal parts and chaos star on shield boltgun metal, did a devlan mud wash over the entire model with it a tad heavier on some spots (didnt wash the weapon however) then followed with a badab black wash on the weapon and shield... Thats how it came out... it was quick but not final... Thoughts?

EDIT: GROSS! you can totally see I forgot a bunch of spots that I didnt hit with devlan mud! I even forgot the front fur! and my pics are horrible! BAHHHHH

I'd hit the armor with more Devlan Mud.

So just darker armor is what you guys think? Its actually rather dark but the camera flash made it lighter... Plus the areas I missed with devlan make it look crappy... I like the over all feel of it... just need to not be so sloppy... Ill strip this and paint it again, see how it comes out and post more pictures!

If you have some dark flesh on hand it makes a nice wash for metallic parts. Maybe do that on the axe and highlight it a little for a worn out look.

It seems to me that it needs something to break up the red. Like a nice contrasting color. The silver doesn't seem to do it that well. But i have to say that your skills in the art of painting red is great.

I would go for a basecoat of scab red and then work up to the red your using, that should give the colour more depth, wash with devlan, I would paint the boots black as well as the helmet, the horns of the helmet paint black but keep the tips red

I think that a gold/bronze color look better on the khorne guys.
also a black fur would look cool.

Wash the red armor with purple. Its dark enough to "black" line the figure, but it will add a subtle new color to the fig.

Did you do anything with cape or is that just red spray covered by devlan mud?
