Hi there, I'm a long time player living in Sydney, Australia - I've been playing with the same gaming group for a long time, which is fantastic, but I'm also looking to get different games in as well, new ideas, new challenges.

Willing to travel around Sydney (I'm travelling an hour across the city anyway for my gaming group), lots of fun to play against, I hope, good friend of HBMC's (if that's a recommendation ) - I play vanilla/Khorne/Tzeentch/Slaaneshi CSM, and also SM/SW.

Also, if anyone knows of any tournaments held in the greater Sydney area, I'd be happy for any info.

Cheers.

I went about Google searching this yesterday, I didn't find much, but I found something that should help...

http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showforum=190
^ a list of clubs here, it doesn't seem like much to me, but it's the biggest list I've found so far

I found a lengthy list of tournies, but they all seem pretty far away, there's about two left this year, so I'll link you

Thats what I found anyway.

What part of Sydney are you in? That helps narrow down the selection of clubs - oh, and own-transport also expands the list.

There are fewer clubs around post the insurance rate hikes for liability cover.

I used to travel for an hour or so (on public transport - so in a car add up to 30% longer) to get to my clubs (I played at two. Chatswood Crusaders - now defunct due to insurance hikes - and Western Suburbs Wargamers - when they were at Blacktown, pre-Quaker's Hill).

Many of the clubs host their own tournaments throughout the year. Just past, we had the "Mother of All Battles (MOAB)" in Sylvania hosted by the Southern Battlegamers (40 or so 40k players, 60 or so WHFB players, plus FoW, Wargods, Infinity, Blood Bowl) over the three-day long weekend.

There were however at least two other clubs in that radius, but they either met at times that were not convenient to me, or clashed with the other two (where my mates played).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I'm in Sutherland, but I'm ok to travel - heck, I travel 50-60 mins for a game at the moment anyway.

@lords2001: Your best bet for closest would be Southern Battlegamers at Sylvania Heights Community centre on Friday afternoon/nights. near the corner of Box Rd and Sylvania Heights Rd Nth. About a 15 minute walk from Gymea railway station.

Otherwise there are clubs/groups in Wollongong, Sydney CBD (goodgames, Railway Sq nr Central & GW CBD Battlebunker nr town Hall Station).
