I've been thinking about starting a Deathwing army. Here is the list I made for 1500, I'm hoping for some C&C on this before I start playtesting and messing with models.

HQ:

Belial

Interrogator-Chaplain (Terminator Armor)

Elites:

Dreadnought (Missile Launcher, Multimelta)

Dreadnought (Missile Launcher, Assault Cannon)

Troops:

Deathwing Terminators (2x TH/SS, 3x TLC, Standard Bearer)

Deathwing Terminators (Assault Cannon)

Deathwing Terminators (CML)

Deathwing Terminators (CML)

Total: 1500

The idea here is that I would have Belial and the Chaplain roll with the 2x TH/SS, 3x TLC Termies. I would start with everything on the board except the Belial unit, and have them enter first turn via Deathwing Assault. The Assault Cannon squad sits midrange, killing troops with the AC. The two CML units camp out on objectives, sniping things. I gave the dreads MLs so that they are both threats to light vehicles (transports in particular), while the multimelta dread can pop bigger stuff and the AC dread can mow down hordes. I'm thinking the CCW/Storm Bolter/Multimelta loadout on both might be wiser though.

Thoughts?

Looks quite good.
I'd include an Apothecary for live-saving purposes.

drop the Chappy
The DW Apoth is a must-have.
Personally I never take the ML on the dreads for two reasons:
1. I always miss with them
2. I always end up wanted the DCCW, otherwise it just gets tied up.
You could get the third Dread in place of the chappy.

Agree with Okidan Champion.

The only thing I might do is to get a Librarian instead of the Chappy for that all important psychic hood. Plus his force shield can be pretty handy. (If you want another special character, Azrael makes Termies dead hard with a 4+ INV save...)

I'd also make all the troop squads the same, and mix them up to allow maximum wound allocation shenanigans:

1x Storm Bolter/Powerfist
1x Storm Bolter/Power Sword (SGT)
1x Lightning Claws
1x Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield
1x Assault Cannon

White has got it. You can also take a GKGM or BC + GKT (if you want) for support or instead of the libby.

You ALWAYS need an apothecary with the wing. Now, the 2nd thing about deathwing squads is that you ALWAYS need a chainfist in the squad. It's 5 points, take the damn thing!

Try

SB/PW
SB/PF
SB/CF
Th/SS
Assc.

That works good for a shooting squad.

Run all your squads like this and I reccomend CML's or Assc. in the squads. Also, run your dreads as AC / ML or MM / ML. Deathwing need fire support, dreads work.

I think that you should probably not DWA belial and just run him with a SB/SOS in a squad. Running Footwing is hard to do competitivly and if you want a more competitive build I can help you out but mine is very unusual.

Good luck!

PM me if you have more questions or ask them here.
