Its an interesting effect... Its not that I dont like it, as I think it looks rather good, just not battle damage... more like it just flew into a forest and got grass stains everywhere :p or a swamp

I don't think it's fantastic but it is an easy effect to do, which is a plus.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

As for the damage technique, I think you could have done without the green and it would have looked decent enough. And even then it's more of a weathering technique...

The green paint looks more like a cammo scheme rather than damage

Back to the technique, here is how I do a similar effect.

1) Paint the model normally, highlighting and washing for depth.

2) Take a color a shade or two lighter than the base color and prepare the brush for a damp drybrush, but with litle paint.

3) Starting from the edge, brush away from the edge towards the hull slightly lifting as you brush so it lightens and thins creating slightly triangular streaks. This gives the appearance of light paint scratches that haven't broken paint. Make as long or short as you like.

4) For mor serious scratches, repeat with a n even lighter paint inside the streaks you just made.

5) For paint chips, in the lighter streaks and scratxhes, especially aling the hull edge apply black paint. Once dry, paint boltgun over the black leaving a slight black line between the boltgun and the vehicle paint. A tin color can be used instead to create older chips. In this case highlight with boltgun at the edge of the metal chip.

6) For fresh chips highlight the boltgun with chain mail and silver at the very edge.

I've never 'speed painted' or anything because I don't see the point in not taking your time with minis. I would base the (e.g) scratch, black then highlight with tin bitz (leaving an outline of the previous black) then highlighting with a silver colour (also leaving a previous outline of tin bitz)

I'm not really seeing a tutorial here. ultramarine ultramad, while your enthusiasm is commendable, a little more effort on the actual step-by-step process would be more useful as a tutorial. So if you would like to go back and edit your first post with some pictures and actual step-by-step instructions, that would be great. Otherwise, I'll just shift this over to the normal Painting & Modeling section.
