 wow well i'm seeing a lot of people making their own creatures to put into warhammer but what i don't understand is that if you want to make these creatures and make them playable and all why don't you just make a new game or somehting then you could let your imagination run wild making whole new races and fluff and if your too lazy for that get a bunch of people and each of them can be in charge of a race.
heck i'd be willing to do that it would be fun, really hard but fun
heres a poll and if enough people vote yes maybe i'll start a new game just reply yes if you would like to help as well as vote yes

Hi bane.
I have been looking at writing a new rule set...and need to populate it with factions.
I have the basic game play sorted out, just need to refine some rules .
Count me in if this new game takes off.

ok lanrak just need to see if more people like the idea because unless you only want it to be you and your friends playing it we will need more support so hang in there
P.S. i could actually make figures too because i have family members who are artists so they have a foundry.

In Rogue Trader there was a whole section of creatures that were in the 40K universe complete with rules. Creature Feature gave us the rules to actually create them in the 3rd edition. I remember making rules for allied ambuls using creature feature. GWS needs to bring back CA, I completely stopped purchasing WD about a year ago because of their absence and I used to buy those magazines religious.

HI all.
Bane why do you want to keep the rules a secret?
If we develop our own rule set that is developed based on desired game play, NOT selling the latest GW minature releases.
It will be so far from GW 40k rule set they wont care!
Here is my idea to replace current C.L.A.W. weapon -armour interaction.
All units/elements have an armour-resistance to damage rating(AR,) of 1 to 15.
All weapon have a damage rating (DR) of 5 to 20.
Deduct the AR from the DR to get the number you have to roll over to 'save'.
Eg Imerial trooper (AR 2) is hit by a weapon with DR 6.The player owning the Imperial trooper has to roll over (6-2=4) 4 to save the hit.
Eg saves on a 5+
A kimera APC (AR 12/11/11,) is hit in the front by a weapon with DR 15.
15-12=3. the kimera needs to roll a 4+ to save the hit.
The Kimera is 'invunerable' direct damage from weapons with a DR of 12 or less.(11 or less in its side or rear arc.)
(But still could be supressed by concentrated area fire.)
Multiple hit point creatures and vehilces still have hit points alocated to movement and armament.
Ill draw up a new damage table for multi wound models
Unsaved hit beat armour by..... resultant mobility -armourment damage.(Similar to 40k vehicle damage table ...)
I want to change supression so weapons get a seperate supression rating .(SR.)If a unit recives its AR+current DC value in SR hits , it takes a moral test,faliure results in the unit becoming suppresed.(Shaken).
Eg 6, Space Rangers wearing Tactical Assault Armour,(AR 5) come under fire from heavy ordnance barrage SR 15.
The Space Rangers supression value is 6+5=11.
Total SR 15-11=beaten by 4.
The Space rangers moral value is 1.(Normaly an automatic pass to roll more than 1 on a D6!)
But the Space ranger now have to roll 5+ to pass moral check, or become supressed!

Hi folks.
I would like to get opinions on the basic game turn mechanic types we could use.
'Unit activation'.
Each player takes it in turns 'activating ONE unit ,(taking all that units actions , eg move and shoot.)
'Interleaved phases'.
Each player takes it in turns to perform ONE action with all units.
(I have not included 'Variable bound' as this is probably better suited to different scale games or games with same race factions.And the army level IGO UGO of current 40k is too restrictive IMO.)
Both of the above methods can be used with 'order counters', to stop unrealistic reactions and inrease tactics .And both benifit from randomising who goes first each game turn.
There are different ways of structuring either method.
(PS , The ONLY down side with unit activation is if opposing armies have vastly different numbers of units.)
So if you folks could pick one then we can move on to refining the structure of the game turn...
This is important , get it wrong and you end up with pages of rules to correct the interaction later!

Just saw this . I would like to be in on this if i can. How are you all communicating. I have been struggling for some time to come up with a new chaos God, to no real avail. I think my posts are often too large and beligerant to warrant more than 10 responses. I love the idea of everyone being in charge of a faction. But how big are you planning on this becoming? Will this be a marketable game or just a fanboy project? If it is planned on being a marketable game, count me in. I would be willing to contribute what I can. Just let me know.
