Do you guys use count as and proxy stuff.

I'm looking to 'count as' the withershadow as the 3 Witches to the Coven. I haven't though of how to convert them, but I think they are great models for the job.

Maybe Garlghast would be a giant floating tome/book...

Anyone with crazy (but workable) conversions they've seen? Anything nicely converted?

I've seen a very cool water based pirate Cryx theme. Also a mound of skeletons that rise up and ends with Wrathe on his steed.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Wooo, that's one sexy Seether.
What is the base specifically?
Marble like.

What did you use for the claws? Not a fan of the Nightmare's hands at all and would like to re-work them in a similar manner.

It's supposed to be Nightmare

The base is 'garden' slate and 'roof' slate sprayed with Army Painter spray, which is slightly gloss. The claws are spider rider legs from the 'Battle for skull pass' plastics with Green Stuff 'knuckles'.

I have spme other proxies, I'll put pictures up later.

To answer the original post, PP wants us to use the original models as the basis for conversions. (i.e. you can use the withershadow models to enhance the 3 witches, but must use the 3 witches as the base models)
Also, if you want to convert/replace weapons, they must be with another weapon of same type. (Sword for sword, and not mace for sword)

Those are the current rules, as I understand them.

That being said...I think the idea is 'in awesome! They just won't allow it in Tournament

Hmm, something to wrap my head around. How to combine them...

Normally I would say don't sweat that tournament rule since it's very loosely enforced. It's mostly there just to make sure no one ever has to specifically ask you what a model is - it should be clear on the table.

For that reason, I think you might actually have some trouble with your idea here - since you're hoping to replace a small unit of 3 cryx models with another small unit of 3 cryx models. That could actually get pretty confusing, particularly if you're planning on running a Withershadow Combine also.

Long as your opponents are clear with what's going on, it'll be fine. But you really might want to get a genuine Witch coven in case you have to play against some strangers.

And of course, restrictions are REALLY tight if you want to use these armies at a
Privateer Press event. At the Masters event at Gencon last August, a Trollblood player
couldn't use the Trollkin Kiltlifter as a proxy hero.

Soooo...we like people with interests in the hobby but don't go crazy with it and restrict crazy imagination if you want in in our events...

Well, I'm no stranger to it with repect to GW events/LGS events.

But I'll see what I can think up...

I was hoping for the puppeteer WitherShadow to hover over the Coven sort of.......but that's just one random idea so far...

By Privateer events, we're really only talking about Gencon - everything else is run by pressgangers who will more than likely allow it, IF it's not confusing for an opponent.

I dig the puppeteer idea. He could be standing over the egregore, controlling the ladies. This wouldn't cause any problems, even at Gencon Masters.

Oh if only having a painted puppeteer let you control the ladies.

Wait, what?
