I am about to do something I never thought I would do. Start my own painting blog!

Some of you will already know that I am a painfully slow painter as I have to get everything just right. After spending far to long looking at my dull and uninteresting grey and silver miniatures I have decided that starting a blog will be a good source of motivation. The aim of my blog is to get a fully painted, game legal army ready for games of 40K, hopefuly by Christmas!

As I have mentioned I am new to this and am not that skilled with the camera so please be patient with me! Painting at weekends is not possible as it is the only time I see the girlfriend because she lives some distance away. Most of my work will be done in the evenings after work. My goal will be to provide at least one update per week

First up is the obligatory picture of my workspace.

Now for some of my painted miniatures.

Finaly, here are the Nobz I am working on, very much WIP. I hope to get these finished next week.

C&C welcome as always, thanks for having a look

One update per week is plenty, especially if you're trying to sneak time in to paint.

Beautiful minis. That's the best Badrukk I've seen.
How do you do the green?

Good luck with the one update a week.

Hi Thorgut, thanks for the compliment!

I start with a Black undercoat, then paint the entire skin in Orkhide Shade, a coat of Knarloc Green covering all but the deepest creases, then Goblin green onto the raised areas then a final highlight of Goblin Green/Bleached Bone 50/50 mix. I dont bother with the final highlight on the rank and file types.

I have been doing some work on a looted Leman Russ with a twist which I hope to take some photos of tomorrow night

Update time!

My Nobz are pretty much base coated, so will be moving on to the washes and highlights tonight, I want to get these guys finished before the weekend rolls around.

Here is a group shot (sorry that the photo's are a little dark!)

Also a close up of a couple of the Nobz

Now here is the looted Leman Russ I have been working on, I am going for an Evil Sunz scheme on this on as I was getting tired of painting checks! As you can see the idea is that when the Orks "aquired" it the engine was so knackered they replaced it with a steam one! I need to convert a Mek and some grots with shovels and a pile of coal but otherwise it's just a case of finishing the painting and adding some weathering.

Here is the front

Any ideas on how I should finish off the Russ would be great

Once again sorry for the poor quality of the photo's, I should have this sorted by the end of the week!

C&C welcome

Excellent.
I love how the Nob is shooting out of a hole caused by an enemy tank (or an inaccurate friendly one).
