My first look through the new codex brought me this.
HQ
Ragnar Blackmane 240pts.
Elites
9x Wolf Guard + Power Swords 252pts.
Troops
10x Grey Hunters, x1 Flamer, x1 Melta, Rhino 185pts.
10x Grey Hunters, x1 Flamer, x1 Melta, Rhino 185pts.
10x Grey Hunters, x1 Flamer, x1 Melta, Rhino 185pts.
Heavy Support
Land Raider Redeemer + Multi-Melta 250pts.
Long Claw Leader + 4 Long Claws w/ 4 Missiles + Assault Cannon Razorback w/ Dozer Blade 200pts.
This is Rhino rushing, multi-charging heaps of fun with a little bit of range just in case. If I'm going for a fun game I'd toss in Bloodclaws instead of the Hunters, and break up my WG a bit so they aren't all idiots. However the current plan is to pop some transports with the Long Fangs, Razorback, and Redeemer's Assault Cannon and then multi-charge them with Ragnar and his 5 to 7 attacks on the charge and his body guard who will contributes between 36 and 54 extra power sword attacks.

I like what your trying to do here, but I dont think it will work like this.
Your WG squad will get eaten alive after it kills the squad on the turn it charges.
You could drop a WG and get a Rhino, drop the LRR and add another 8x WG with power swords in a rhino.

doesn't Ragnar give relentless to whatever squad he is attached to? I may be thinking of a different character.
If I am correct, why wouldn't you attach Ragnar to a 5 man MM squad in a Drop Pod and annhiliate the biggest threat in turn one?
then bring in the troops for big assaults either with LR variants or rhino rush.
The troop choices really should focus their special weapons. either take two flamers or two melta. that way you have focus and are more efficient at an objective.
Long fangs can also be run by splitting lascannons and heavy bolters in two squads. In this scenario ignore the above comment about focus because long fangs can split fire. So, if the opponent is afraid of dakka he/she will have to take out both squads before eliminating that thread. Same goes for a mech force fearful of your Las Cannons.

Why not have 5 missile launchers?
Mixing melta;s and flamer's is essentially fail.
Not equipping power weapons, mark of the wulfen or fielding special weapon Wolf Guard to the Grey hunter's is also questionable.
Feels like your putting all your eggs into the the wolfguard yet they have 0 heavy-hitting power.
Generally, poor. Doesnt work well together.

Forget rhino rush... this has great potential as a drop pod force.
Drop the land raider for another long fang pack with razorback, buy drop pods for your grey hunters and wolf guard. Buy a second melta for each grey hunter and drop the flamer, and buy a mark of the wulfen for each grey hunter unit. Finally add 2 or 3 combi-melta to your wolf guard.
That list has much more of a guarnatee to get into peoples face than a rhino rush. Ragnars fluff is that he is the planetstrike king. His fluff matches his rules. Land with a bunch of choppy units that have medium transport killing capabilities, pop as many transports as you can, then next turn, RAWR!

Basically this list is pretty bad... I should have known better but I didn't take a real critical eye to this list and it was more a first impressions list to see what units people liked and didn't like. Oh well, even if I fail at Space puppies I still have my Imperial Guard lists. Automatically Appended Next Post: Here's the new look drop pod style list.

Ragnar Blackmane 240pts.

5x Wolf Guard (2x Power Swords, 3x Combi-Melta, 3x Frost Weapons, 1x Melta Bombs) + Drop Pod 205pts.

Honestly, it looks decent. Not so sure on melta bombs in the elites, but the combimeltas prove solid for chaos termicide, so good enough.
What are the tactics you plan to employ? Will you hold the long fangs in reserve?

I'm not sure on the AssCannon Razors.
Should you try to get an even number of redudant Pods so that you can manipulate which section you want in first?
Wouldn't some Blood Claws be fluffy?
Not even 'one' fist on the Wolf Guard?
@Shep:
RAWR! Indeed.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Well I only added the melta bomb to the squad to use up the last of my points. I think I'll toss him a thunder hammer instead.
As for tactics I'd drops two troop squads up front to make the opponent work for his own objectives. I'd start the Long Fangs as close up as I can, have their transports either attack targets of opportunity, or act as cover or line of sight blockers for the Fangs. Reason being that the Fangs need to be a bit up field to shoot all game long and a turn of missed shooting is 5 to 10 missile shoots I can't afford to lose.
Bloodclaws would be fluffy, but they're not as good unless I could make their special rule work the turn the pod in for extra charging goodness. As for the first, I dropped the melta bombs and added in a thunder hammer.

I've run asscan razors the last while with my Blood Ravens force. I am now running with the las/plas razor and I find it gets more for the buck. I find the asscan hits half the time and renders maybe once per game∫ and I don't kill as many as I would like. The Las/plas razor kills more and has more flexibility as I find it. It's the same cost, and I can reach out and touch more people with it. This is what I'll be running as I retool my Wolves.
