I was just wondering what everyones favourite assassin is? I doesnt matter if you like the assassin because: it looks good; its good on the tabletop or you like the background. I like to know your reasons for your choice too.

The other option in the poll is now vindicare assassin officially because I made a mistake when I made the poll

Eversor, everyone loves a chaplain thats totally freakin nuts, does massive amounts of drugs, and then blows up when he dies... what more could you ask for, speeking of which, can the Officio Assassinorum codex still be used?

The old 2nd edition assassin was obviously the best for its time, rules wise. Where else could you get an infiltrator that automatically kills the member of whatever squad he pops up in, then roll around in Terminator armor, on a bike, with a displacer field, AND a dodge invulnerable 4+, take 3 separate armor saves (2 invulnerable) and throw vortex grenades a foot across the table? This was, of course, at a time when you could actually make cheesy characters that weren't GW "Special Character" nonsense. Now we just have ridiculous Special Character rules. Back then, you had to make your own cheesy-as-all-hell unit.

The Eversor has the coolest fluff, but the Callidus is the best in game, hands down. Eats through anything no problem. TH/SS Terminators? No save. Any Character with a 4+ invul? No save. Strikes before most other units, "deep strikes" wherever the hell it wants and doesn't scatter, AND makes you redeploy one unit up to 6 inches away. It also costs less than a kitted out Marine captain.

Culexus has the best fluff. The ability to make your targets gak their pants just by standing near them is awesome. Fluffwise, they're easily the most dangerous assassins, and the most interesting.

Vindicare comes in second for its badass factor.

Now if only the rules didn't suck... and the Culexus model wasn't crap...

I go for vindicare as well (shame about female farseers though :p ) very closely followed by callidus, I love the pollymorphine fluff.

Eversor is my favourite, but it's a stretch to call him an 'assassin'; sledgehammer would be more appropriate.

Callidus is my favourite for... actually assassinating someone, just prefer the style to the long range Vindicare one.

The vindicare looks cool but is seriously bad in game turns since the most he can do is kill one model a turn wheras the callidus or eversor can kill 4!
