Does shadows of the warp prevent perils of the warp for the Nids as well or is it just your opponent?

Nope, it's only the enemies. The nid Player rolls as normal.

Oakland, CA -- U.S.A.

Only the opponent has Perils of the Warp nullified.
Also the 3d6 is only the opponent as well.

It's not you, there is plenty of debate on this.

There are two sentences, the first says that the opponent rolls 3d6.
The second sentence says that any PotW are nullified. It is not clear whether that statement is meant to only apply to the first sentence, or to stand on its own.

The nid GW FAQ (and yes GWAR!, i know FAQ=/=Eratta, and yes FAQ is not official, though it is a good jumping off point) clears this up very well.

only the opponent rolls 3d6, and only is PotW are nullified.

The Nid FAQ does not contradict clear RaW, so it is fine to use.

When an FAQ totally and unashamedly ignores clear as day RaW (Such as Deff Dread Attacks), it should be ignored. If GW wanted to change Deff dread attacks, they should have made it an errata.
