He me and my mates read some battle reports featuring grots as meat shields. They were giving cover saves to a squadron of killa kans, in a screening line in front of them. as far as i read in the rules the vehicle needs to be 50% or more covered to gain a cover save... so what do you guys say?

If they screen Orks , and Orks in turn screen Kans , maybe.

But if directly , no . Needs 50% like you said.

Are the grots on *really* high ground?

Vehicles need 50% obscured, you cannot get a cover save just from shooting though another unit.
