Okay, so I'm starting out in 40k and had about 750 points of Orkz, but starting to rethink the whole ork thing, since everyone is playing them. I like to be unique and maybe even a lil nuts sometimes, so me and a friend were talking. I wanted to try out the Chaos Daemons, and against better advice I like the Slaanesh background. So I am going to build a small army of Slaanesh and Tzeentch. The whole story behind them is the Slaanesh is feeding off the Tzeentch's lust of magic. So needing suggestions on a 1500 and 2000 point build to be semi-competitive. I know Chaos Daemons are a hard army, but I think that is what could make them really fun.

So here is my 1000 point starter list that I am starting to collect....only have one thing of daemonnetes so far, any help/comments appreciated.

HQ
Keeper of Secrets w/ Pavane of Slaanesh

Elites
3x Flamers of Tzeentch
4x Fiends of Slaanesh

Troops
12x Daemonettes
12x Daemonettes
6x Pink Horrors + Bolt w/Changling

Fast
5x Screamers of Tzeentch

exactly 1000 points....The screamers are there because 2 brothers (one plays chaos the other is regular SM) always take at least 1 LR no matter the battle...even in 500. Thanks again guys, having a great time so far playing

To tell you the truth, Orks arnt really overplayed any more than the next army. There are so many ways to play orks and so many conversions you can do with the pieces that its so hard to get bored playing them. Its def. one of the armies that have a great replay value just because of the varies play styles. I would rethink your decision on switching armies. Your call though =)

I actually have to disagree. I think that Orks are quite a popular army, hell I even started out with them, but quickly regretted it and stopped.

Okay, sorry but Daemonetts suck so I reccomend trying something (while keeping with your theme) like this:

Herald of Slaanesh - 90
Chariot of Slaanesh; Unholy Might; Sporific Musk

Herald of Slaanesh - 90
Chariot of Slaanesh; Unholy Might; Sporific Musk

Fiends of Slaanesh - 150
5x

Fiends of Slaanesh - 150
5x

Horrors - 175
10x; Changeling

Horrors - 170
10x

Horrors - 85
5x

Horrors - 85
5x

Primary Wave: Herald; Changeling Horrors; Fiends; Fiends
2nd: Herald, Horrors, Horrors, Horrors

So you got some decent infantry in the form of horrors (they are great firepower) and some fast assault units from the Slaanesh side.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you
