So, I'll be going to (my first!) Planetstrike game next weekend, and I'll be bringing my Necrons, and I'm working on m list (1000pts, and I'm on the Attacker team). So, working with the altered FOC, has anybody had any good experiences using the Necrons in planetstrike?

I know you have less heavy support choices but use them all for heavy destroyers as they are perfect for destroying the enemys bastions. There is no point trying to kill the squad inside a heavily fortified building when you can simply destroy the building

Hmmmm....1000 pts is tough. I have only played 2 planet strike games with Necs, 1 attack and 1 defend but both were at 2000 pts. When I attacked what worked best for me was a) Monolith, hard to miss a building with that template and it is ordanance so roll 2d6 and take the highest for pen rolls, plust the hole is AP1. and b) C'tan, doesnt matter which but S9 or 10 with 2d6 crushes buildings quickly. Anything can contest or take objectives and tie goes to attacker so Ctan are naturals to play king of the mountain. You might take both mono and Ctan but phase out may be issue so I would suggest one or the other for 1000 points. Other than that take what you like. Lord with veil might be nice to run with warriors in case they counter assault you can warp to the other end of the board. Havent tried it though. I have a sneaky trick for crons on defense but since you are attacking Ill quit rambling on.

D-Field scarabs can charge off the deepstrike.
And buildings are vehicles.

Two things to keep in mind.

Have you thought about taking all your fast attack choices as scarabs since each scarab swarm has 4 attacks on the charge and you could effectively have over 30 of them, so 120+ attacks. You could kill all your opponents infantry in one turn with well place deep strikes! Tanks on the other hand....

Least sm Land Raiders would be pointless

oh know ur expensive strength 9 lascannon killed one whole model

Scarabs are nice, however with only 1,000 pts I need to worry about phase out....still worth thinking about though...

Is phase out still in planetstrike? I know most players ignore it in apocalypse

well, technically this is a GW "event" and I doubt that the other people would agree to no phase out (although even without it necrons are still screwed)

Necrons need an update before they will be as effective as other armies in the 5th edition

iv never played necrons in planet strike but get the nightbringer he kicks ass

All Immortals could be a potent army. Remember that, as attacker, you don't have to field any Troops, so feel free to go crazy with an all-Destroyer army, all-Immortal army, etc.
