Ok! so usual build on many models is a combat weapon (that is a fist or power weapon) with a pistol as secondary weapon.

Pistol confers +1 attack in close combat

If the model has a fist or power sword: does this +1 attack count as the strength of fist/ignore armor (power sword)

Or.. does it just count as a s3/s4 close combat weapon.

So you resolve attacks differently/separately?

ps can a model with a pistol and fist strike with pistol on normal initiative then fist last.

Similar predicament- striking scorpion exarch has a biting blade and scorpion claw- do all attacks count as scorpion claw strength- or do you resolve separate.
(as such, can he strike with biting blade first? (such a waste of uber high initiative otherwise)

When you buy a special weapon, you use it's effects for all attacks. For example, a Space Marine Veteran Sergeant has two attacks. If he has a Powerfist, both attacks are at initiative one, strength eight (double his strngth of four), and ignore armor saves. If you have two special weapons, such as your Exarch with Biting Blade and Scorpion Claw, you choose which weapon to wield and all of your attacks gain the chosen weapons effects but none of the other weapons effects (so if you use the Biting Blade, all your attacks gain whatever a Biting Blade does or you can use the Claw and all your attacks are at strngth six, initiative one, and ignoring armor saves, but you can't use both). Note, you cannot choose to not use a special weapon if you have one.

For extra attacks, the extra attacks use the special weapons effects if you have one. Note, that Powerfists and several other weapons do not gain the bonus attack for pistols. The complete rules for close combat weapons can be found on page forty-two of the rulebook.

Sweet thanks! for some reason looked everywhere in rule book except on that corner of the page. guess this makes swords not thaat much worse than fists cause you get that +1 attack, ignoring saves. Nifty!

Unless of course the model is Logan Grimnar where his weapon profile allows him to split the Axe Morkai into 2 styles of attack, Powerfist Mode or Frost weapon mode

True, but he cannot get the bonus attack, as he would have to have 2 "Axe Morkai" as it is a Special CCW

True, but he cannot get the bonus attack, as he would have to have 2 "Axe Morkai" as it is a Special CCW

and in order to wield it as a powerfist, he has to use it 2 handed, further squashing the chance...

Also, considering if you decide to run Logan with Ragnar, he will get up to eight S6 I 6 or eight S9 I1 attacks, along with Ragnars 7 S6 I 6 attacks ALONG with Wolf Guard with up to six S6 I5 Frost Blade Attacks Each, I think any player who wants to weasel a single extra attack is a total dick. Oh, and they all have Preferred Enemy or Tank Hunters.

Did I mention Land Raider Crusaders and Wolf Guard go well together

It's also horribly expensive, just Like Space Wolves are meant to be

Logan + Ragnar = 515
10 Wolf Guard = 180
Two Terminators with CML and Frost Blades = 110 Points
8 More Frost Blades = 160
Land Raider Crusader with Extra Armour = 265
Total: 1,230

And there is still 1 transport Spot Free for Njal in Runic Armour if you so wish
