I am a 3rd Edition 40k player that left the hobby for quite a few years now. 5th Edition has caught my interest and I've found all the love that I originally had for the hobby and game, all over again. I have long since sold off my old armies and am beginning fresh. I lurked here years ago but I've found that I really want to become a contributing member someday. I, as well as another friend who is rejoining the hobby, will have many questions as we begin our journey into 5th Ed and I'm glad to have such a great resource. Thanks for having me.

I simply walked into an independent store here that carries only GW product. I had given a friend of mine a ride to the shopping center it is housed in and I told him I would be there while he did his thing elsewhere. The weekend before, I was relating to my game group about how Space Hulk had been released in limited form and almost immediately sold out. Well, there it was (5 copies in fact) sitting on a shelf in front of me a short distance into the store. I grabbed the box and began to intensely look it over, marveling at how great it all look and enjoying the heft of the box. The store owner watched me with a big smile on his face and must have read my mind. "Want to take a look at what is in there?". "Yeah" I replied and watched him head to the back of the store and come back with an opened copy. The figures were already assembled, which allowed me to marvel at the possibilities. The next day, my girlfriend purchased a copy for me for Christmas, which she was happy about because she had previously been clueless as to what to get me. While I knew I would not be getting my hands on my copy till late in December, I decided to zip around the net and find out what I could about the set and how it was being received. Fast forward to today, I've been researching armies and will be making my first purchases in many years soon. Man, I miss this stuff. In the meantime, I picked up some paints and begun painting up my Descent: Journeys in the Dark figs just to get my painting up to snuff after so many years away. I am happy to say that my hand is actually steadier now and I feel completely comfortable, once again. If only my wallet was as prepared as I.
