Every time I venture into Dakka, I run into posts where the poster is too lazy to use capitalization, punctuation, or both. Such AIM/internet speak posts 99% of the time are a waste of space and offer no useful or easily comprehensible content. I know that if you try to make a post without capitalization you are given a warning message, which users clearly ignore.

My suggestion is for an option that users could enable for themselves to auto-hide posts which ignore the "don't make this post!" message.

And stating that such posts dont provide any insight/comment is a little elitist imo.

To be fair, if you try to post something without any capitalization, you get a notice before it lets you go on.

Obviously lots of people do the internet-age thing when it comes to pop-up notices - they simply ignore it.

I frequently don't post without capitalization, but I usually observe rules of grammar and punctuation.

There are rare sentences that do not contain capitals though, so it could create a problem if the post was just one of those sentences.

I havn't noticed much of this bad posting though >_>

Both are extermes of the other, only the second is useless. It's a good idea, it would probably just be difficult to implement effectively.

I'd only suggest that it take into account the whole post. There would be no risk of the "4 were left after the shooting phase putting me at a significant disavantage for the next turn." scenario, unless that was the whole post.
I rarely see posts that have no caps/punctuation yet are still insightful and useful. Most posters that have useful information take the minutest of effort to make their ideas presentable.

And yes, it does bother me. The fact that someone even sees a pop-up that says "hey, uhh, mind adding some caps and punctuation?" and ignores it is annoying to even consider.

Rule #5 of Dakka Dakka is to try to use proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. The fact that people repeatedly ignore this makes me not wish to waste my time skimming over their posts when there are other posts more deserving of my attention.
