So in the current 5th edition most people around here dont play that the chapter master force weapon doesnt outright kill ANY characters if it applies? Do you follow the DH Codex when applying his force weapon or the rulebooks rules?

your double negative is confusing me... most people don't play that the weapon doesn't outright kill, so they play that it does?

Either way, you follow the codex because it provides it's own special rules rather than referring you to the rulebook.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

The nemesis force weapon on a grand master is a force weapon, you use the force weapon rules from the 5th edition rulebook.

Nowhere in the demon hunters codex does it ever detail how a force weapon works.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Sorry, but that's incorrect. The DH Codex has an entry for Forceweapons, saying the offending model is "slain outright".

I can only assume you have never, ever read the DH codex then?

Only way to explain you being SO wrong.

DH force weapons follow the rules in their codex, i.e. they Slay outright. No Instant Death, so you bypass Synapse, Eternal Warrior etc.

nosferatu1001 is, as ever, correct.

It definitely does state how Force weapons cause a model to be slain outright - which is not the same as instant death. Everyone listed here before me is correct. Also, Brother Captain Stern's NFW works the same as a Grandmaster's and thus causes the same thing to happen.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

By the rules...

Sadly, GW seems to work thus:
-Insta-kill becomes a problem for Special Characters
---so---
-the make the Eternal Warrior USR
---so---
then Codex Creep comes along
---so---
they create characters who can ignore Eternal Warrior

And as a fun side note: old codexes that haven't been updated since 3rd Edition in some cases, will still have models that can ignore Eternal Warrior.
Part of why I am a huge believer that all codexes should have been updated before a new edition of 40k is put out...

But that would mean someone would have to actually acknowledge the Dark Eldar. Can't have that.
