What is everyones' opinions on how to best play a rune priest? Rhino with GH or Land Raider with BC? Multiple uses of psychic shooting or charge in and jaws? Is he a viable objective holder?

He has certainly been weakened in close combat when compared to the old RP.

That's a good question.
The problem is to provide a delivery system for this guy
so that he can use his devastating power, the jays, unhindered.
I'd stick him into a Rhino with a unit of GH's.
If you use multiple Rhinos you could partially block LoS
to the RP's Rhino so that his Rhino eventually gets a cover save.

He is no good in close combat anymore. I think the best they have going is blocking psychic powers on a 4+. Basically you have to keep them in a vehicle to keep them safe... There is just too much scary gak out there that can kill them quickly. Even Njal is not good in close combat. I think if you keep them cheap the 4+ psychic block is worth it but the other psychic powers are situational at best.

I'm thinking that I'll be fielding mine near my Long Fangs. Take Master of Runes and the powers Living Lightning and Storm Caller. Long range fire power with a Space Wolf Kustom Force Field.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I stick him in a Rhino with nine Grey Hunters and JOWW+Tempest's Wrath. Then again, I have to play against a lot of Daemons...

Well, if he's too far away from the enemy, he hardly can use his psychic hood.
I'd stick him into a Rhino and keep him at mid-field.

He is a support/toolbox character.
Crazy good at it too with his gear and powers selection.

Rhino is decent.

I've been theoryhammering putting him on a bike to tag along with a maxed out Swiftclaw squad....prob. more 'fun' than truely effective though.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

@Sanctjud:
I'm not surprised that YOU came up with bike idea.
If so, I'd let him lead a larger Biker unit.
A lone Biker is a dead Biker.

Lol, I love those bikers...of all kinds.

I was thinking:

Wolf Priest, bike
Rune Priest, bike, Chooser, Wolftail, Jaws and 3D6 str 3 attack.

10 Swiftclaws, Fist, Melta, Hvy bolter Attack bike.
Wolf guard, bike, Fist, Combi-melta.

Maybe a seonc rune priest with bike, Jaws and Living thunder.

It's really just an anti-infantry unit...with limited melta ability to get guys out of those transports. Nothing really competitive, just a bike spam.

But I do like scoring loyalist bikes though...if only Vanilla SM could get double the HQ slots........./sigh.

I dont think you can take them same power twice.

But a Biked priest with Living Lightning and Jaws of the world wolf is a good way to run him. Lightnings vs those pesky vehicles or far-away targets and Jaws for any infantry type model within the 24". Edit: 36"

It depends on how you interpret it. I see it as you can't take the same combination of powers.

Yea I like jaw + lightning.
Lightning if he wants to contribute to shooting AV, or Jaws when vs. infantry.
