Hey, just saying hello, =) Ive just got back into 40k after about 2 years of flames of war. Ive had a change of heart and now im back! I play Imperial guard, I'm planning to start an Army of Elysian Drop Troops, just not sure where to start.. *taps head*

I have looked at the army list codex from the Taros campaign book, but inst that a bit out of date? could I just use the Normal Imperial Guard codex?
and another question lol,

can you start the game with troops in transports? dedicated or not? (this is referring to guard troops in general.)

As to the first question i dont know because i dont play guard yet. The second question is heck yeah gotta your guys somewhat safe if your opponent is going first. Last welcome to dak dak.

Q1 - New Imperial Guard Codex doesn't really allow for Elysian Drop Troops (except for Storm Troopers), so it may be best to stick with the Taros Campaign Book and hope your opponent doesn't mind.

Q2 - Yep, any vehicle with a transport capacity can have a unit embarked at the start of the game. In the case of dedicated transports, it should be the unit that the transport was bought for.

Just use new Imperial Guard Codex its easier to use.

Dedicated transports can only have their unit in them for deployment purposes, after that they are a taxi for anyone in your army

I've just been looking a Flames of War myself and hope to discuss it further with you at some point
