in the rules it says that the nid's guns are part of them but the models look like they are holding a gun that is connected to them i mean if the gun is a part of them shouldn't the models have like arms that morph into a gun instead of a hand holding/connected to a gun

It's purely for aesthetics, I think... Besides, the Tyranids seem to need to look like they've all got their insectile arms and claws as opposed to arms with cannons attached instead of wrists. I think it'd make them look clunky and static on the battlefield, but that's just me.

Clean up your grammar, too, please... if you can.

I voted yes, I'd rather see wrist mounted guns/shoulder cannons/etc... but that's just what how I see em.

I vote no - fluff is not rules. And I don't see why Tyranids should be penalized by letting people shoot at them if the gun happens to stick out behind a wall.

I voted no and agree with Starweaver, both grown and fused at one point

I would like to see a more organic fusion between limb and body, a bit more like the biovore. I think the bonesword and lash are even bigger culprits. To me it looks less like a purpose-built organism and more like they picked up a weapon while they had blobs of superglue on their appendages.
That being said, there would still need to be some sort of clear delineation to keep people from trying to argue that the "weapon" now counts as being part of the body for LOS purposes. I personally think some sort of obvious "joint" would be enough, but then, I've also seen people argue rules with nothing more supportive than the semantics of verb tense.

I don't think so, the guns are supposed to be different tyranid organism as hinted in the enhanced senses description & even so they do already tend to blur in with the host organism.

They have tubes leading from the guns into their bodies. That DOES make the gun part of them. Just because their hands aren't fused to the grips doesn't mean the guns aren't a part of their bodies.

Remember that they are symbiotic creatures: they are not one creature: they are two creatures connected together.
