Had a moment last Wednesday... I'm not proud. There's a poll on the blog as well.

Warmachine encourages TFG-style gaming. That's what page 5 is all about. I say if you're gonna play it, embrace your inner douchebag and find the hardest killer combos you can, as long as you inform your opponent first. Encourage them to do the same. Or just play 40K, where wild dice rolls and no-brainer units rule.

Mk2 fixes a whole lot of these issues. You can still do them, but they have limits and you'll have to expend even more resources just to get that 1 thing one.

Yeah, the removal of out of turn activations is going to change the game for me a bit
(Hallowed Avenger, Intercept, etc.) I'm looking forward to MK2, though!

Malf, you fail at being TFG by a wide margin. Looked fine to me.

I don't think it was TFG at all.

Everybody flubs something at some point in a game.

Personally, I learn better from the mistakes I make than the good moves or "takebacks".

Next time he plays a game, Aernie will probably keep in mind what happened and it will make him work a little harder to prevent it the next time.

The next opponent may not be as helpful as you were, possibly not warning him until he kills something.

At least now he will be aware enough to ask if there are any trigger effects.

Bam, said the lady!

It's Menoth. There's always a trigger effect.

That's nothing. I thought you were going to daisy chain damage on the bastians to trigger the FoS which would have been awesome.

You can't.

Triggering damage on yourself does not trigger effects from enemy attacks.

Just out of interest, what would have been the likely result of him activating his Dire Troll first (after the caster if he needed healing) and letting loose on Fire of Salvation? What would have triggered then?

One well placed Headbutt would have solved all his problems.

He was trying to set things up to throw away the Fire of Salvation. I don't know
what his follow up would have been, but it would have opened things up a bit.

Should have thrown it at the Vassal. Double win!

Hehe, yup. EKreoss was somewhere nearby (maybe not near enough to throw at though), so
a helpful deviation would have messed up my following turn.

I'm really not sure what the issue is?

He chose to attack something knowing about an ability you had already mentioned to him.

Less hand holding and more playing is never a bad thing...

Just me over-worrying the issue.

And getting a blog post in the process...
