Well ...I painted up my scrolls and purity seals beautifully ...then I attempted to put some writing on them and - total crap was the result.

Anyone got any tips for doing the writing on scrolls? I'm going to have to completely redo these.

Yeah, any drawing pen with a narrow tip (they go down to 0.05mm at least) and waterproof ink should do fine. They also come in a variety of colours - black is the most common but a dark brown or similar may suit you better.

If you use paint, use either black or brown ink, or watered down scroched brown. I find using black (especially undiluted) gives a very unrealistic effect.

I use my size 18/0 spotter brush (loew-cornell) with black ink. Very important, wipe the excess ink off before you write with it so it doesn't blob.

You can see how fine of a line it makes on the scrolls in my various gallery pics.

i normally use chaos black and and use a wash over it

I just use a fine line pen and then seal it with some matt varnish
