Yes, Target Priority has been removed.
DA fearless characters losing fearless joining squads? :(
If he's Fearless and the squad isn't, then yes, he loses Fearless. Of course, if they're Fearless and he isn't, he gets the Fearless rule.

If I'm reading this correctly, the Painboy gives the benefit to his unit. If the Warboss joins the Nob mob, he's part of the unit, and therefore gets the benefit while he's with the unit. Once he leaves, of course, he ceases to have the benefit of Feel No Pain.

Apart from the Chaplin who confers fearless to the unit he's with(just mentioning this as I've had to explain this to several people)

Tri wrote:Apart from the Chaplin who confers fearless to the unit he's with(just mentioning this as I've had to explain this to several people)
Well, that's because he has a Special rule saying the unit he is with are Fearless, so actually, he does lose Fearless as a Special rule himself (as he is an IC with Fearless joining a non Fearless unit) but his special rule makes the whole unit fearless, so he benefits from that rule, even though he loses it.

Yes.
Although they've given units the status of cover-granting terrain to make shooting the closer one usually a better choice than shooting the ones behind.

Unless they are Marines (aka 99% of the game) who don't benefit from cover except against perhaps 6 or 7 wounds the entire game.

But MEQ armies typically have a small enough model count that those few cover save rolls can be pretty important.

Wot do you mean the status of cover granting terrain?

Yes, we have entered the era of "Coversave 40K"
Yes, AP values arn't even half as important as they used to be unless they are AP 1 or 2.
I do like to mention though that ARMOUR IS NOT DEAD!
I still feild a unit of 'Ard boys + PK Warboss in a battlewagon. Even though they don't use their armour while being transported, even though the armour is meaningles against most of the anti hoard heavy weapons, even though they will get coversaves liberally...
WHY? because armour still works in Close Combat, and less dead orks means more attacks, and less dead orks means I loss combat less often, but if I do lose combat, I suffer a lot less from being fearless. Armour is important for CC, especially if you have a lower initiative (orks, or most MEQ's -vs- High Inititive Nids...)

Say there's a horde of Gaunts between my Fire Warrior team and the enemy Carnifex. If my Fire Warriors shoot at the 'Fex, it gets a 4+ cover save due to the Gaunts being in the way. Same is true if, instead of Gaunts, they're my Kroot Carnivores.

Actually the only army that still takes target priority are Black Templars!... "Kill them All" it is called, and it is at a -1 to their leadership... ouch.

Not always true - MCs have to be covered at least 50% of the models, which low running gaunts may not manage.
However if you had said warriors that would have been correct

Ya know, that is what I thought too, but looking again, I am not so sure.

Well like all of these things you really need the model - it was more pointing out that you need to fulfill the 50% requirement, not that you automatically get it just for having the models in the way.
