just starting to redo Witch hunters aka stripping models and repainting and i was curious about some general tips on painting if you guys could help, I'm experienced and pick stuff up pretty quickly but the few questions i have are.

How to highlight black cloth, normally I do i lighter colour as i can just wash it so i fancied a change so help would be appriciated/
Also with black cloth i was thinking Red armour or blue if any one has any work with similar schemes and has advice on highlighting etc i would like to hear from you.
for base colours i was going mecharite red or mordian blue.

Google image search usually comes up with good results for what your looking for.
When it comes to black and highlights, a color a little less BLACK is always a good start. And then a really dark grey is a good highlight. Makes it look worn.

If you want to paint black cloth, mix up some REALLY dark gray. give it a couple of black washes, then some extreme highlights on the very edges. Note that this technique only works if you paint the armour a brighter colour; if you paint the armour a similar, dark colour , it blends in with the cloth too much.

Glad to hear you considering blue armour Too many SoB players stick to the colours in the codex! I chose a gold and turquoise colour scheme for my SoB and, i think, it has turned out very well. Go for a light blue armour as this will contrast nicely with the black cloth

Well I got me some sistaz in a box waiting for the day I am finished building the orks. Mine will be in a white and gold scheme.

Heed J.Black's advice on contrasts, you will find they add dimension and depth to the mini.
