A question for the younglings, do movies, TV shows, books from before the age of cell phones seem odd to you?

It just seems that ubiquitous cell phones are one of the big social changes like men wearing fedoras that instantly date things.

This is sort of funny to me,as a buddy of mine and I were just discusing how the movie "Cujo" could never work in this day and age.
With cell phones and "onstar",you just couldn't belive someone traped in a car by a rabid dog.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I was watching The Matrix the other day and it occurred to me that Neo's got a hideous brick of a mobile phone.

I got used to it back when cell phones were already commonplace, but new movies still didn't have them. This strange era seemed to drag on for quite a few years.

I remember when some movies would revolve around finding a phone, and now it's about finding a good signal. Also, back in the day when you called someone you knew where they were. I realized one day when I was watching the X-Files that Mulder and Scully would start each phone conversation with "Where are you?"

Forget cell phones, what really hurts is watching something like Die Hard and the gas station is selling gas at $.74 a gallon.
