Somewhere in south-central England.

The Evening Standard gave it 5/5 and a banging write-up.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Wall-E, so I think I"ll go and see UP at the cinema.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I can't wait to see this one, Pixar always has a certain charm going on with their movies that's hard to describe.

It is worth a nod, that is for sure; all of Pixars stuff is worth a look really though.

I couldn't really get into the pace of the movie, and the characters were just decent to be totally honest. Internet shorthand be damned... anyway though. The scenery is (as usual) very well done, probably a bit more seamless than Wall-E; which I found to be patchy in terms of the art. Bubbly... Gritty... Bubbly... Gritty... SPACE TIME!!!... Gritty... Bubbly... and so on... SPACE TIME AGAIN!!! .

Nothing beats The Incredibles for me though, that movie was practically flawless to me. So much fun to watch, fantastic background film. Some people listen to music, some people listen to movies... what, is that so strange?

If you haven't seen it, be warned that you need to brace yourself for the first 10 minutes.

At first I thought that this was a Necro'd thread, and then I realized where you guys lived.

Anyway yeah, it's an awesome movie, it really does have something for everyone.

But yeah, the first 10 or so minutes.

I have to say, I think the guys at Pixar are loosing their edge. Wall-E was fun, but overrated imho. Cars wasn't terrible, but I hated how they bashed the audience over the head with their message.
UP is good, but I really don't understand all those 5/5 ratings. Doug was fun, but all the other dogs were terribly annoying. The villain's end was also nothing spectacular.
Carl is great character though.

Maybe I should just live with the fact that I will never again love a Pixar movie as much as the one which combines James Bond with Superheroes.
*sigh*

UP is the only Pixar movie I haven't seen in theaters or anywhere else; however to comment on Anung's post -- here's hoping Pixar makes some Marvel movies!

I saw this yesterday and thought it was fantastic. To be honest I think Pixar have yet to make a bad movie, of course a few are slightly below the normal outstanding benchmark (Cars, A Bugs Life, Ratatouille) but these are still very good and far beyond 90% of the stuff done by Dreamworks.

The first 10 mins are pretty emotionally draining but thats by no means a bad thing. In fact Pixars films are the only ones that frequently almost reduce me, a grown man, to tears. That's how well made they are.

The only Pixar movie I have not liked was Cars. It is an anomaly in their otherwise great library. Can't stand the movie.
