I was playing an apoc game today and had a bike hit an Eldar superheavy with a Power Fist. Would have killed it, but he claimed a holofield cover save and negated it.

Did we play this right? Do holofields protect against melee attacks?

It's Apoc.

If the titan moved in its previous turn, then yes, the holofields would be active.

Way to be helpful. The rulebook for Apocalypse is no more or less valid than the core 40K rulebook. If you couldn't be bothered to actually answer the question, why even bother posting in the thread?

Holofields protect the vehicle any time a 'hit is scored against it'...

Since the rules don't specify only ranged hits, then yes, melee attacks trigger it as well.

I am being helpful. "Work it out yourselves" is the stock answer to any Apoc Related Question.

If someone's asking a question here, it's presumably because they couldn't work it out for themselves.

In this case, there was a clear answer in the book. Pointing out that answer is much more helpful, and much more likely to encourage newer posters to return, than simply brushing them off with a non-answer because you couldn't be bothered to answer the question but felt the need to post in the thread anyway.

Have to agree with Insaniak on this one.

Posting 'non-answer' "answers" is a sure way to start something that could have easily been avoided in the first place.

And, for no good reason:
