I recently purchased Pearl Jam's new album Backspacer, and not only do I think that is probably their best album since Yield, I think it might be the best album so far this year.
Thoughts anyone? If you haven't listened to it, just try the free samples in iTunes to get a feel for it.
Here is the single from the album, The Fixer

They did it before?

I'm more of a K-OS/Danger Mouse/Talib Kwelli guy.

Haven't given it a good listen to yet. Yield was a great album.

Do the Evolution is one of the best videos ever.

Given to Fly was the most epic song on Yield...

Pearl Jam is never going to top "Ten" with their current musical evolution, but allmusic likes the album a lot so I'll probably give it a listen. Who knows, I may even decide to make it join the massive chimera of music on this thing.

Gathering the Informations.

I actually heard this the other day, thought it wasn't too bad.

Preferred Queensryche's new album though.

Yummy, you heard DOOM's new album Born Like This? It's very quality.

Listening now, definitely like what I'm hearing. Ballskin is my favorite so far.

I'm a wee partial to gazillion ear mainly because of J Dilla's (RIP) production.

Hated that. I don't think they've done anything good since SOME stuff on 'Vitalogy'. The new Alice In Chains, though?

Yes. Very good indeed.

Now, I would love to see Soundgarden do some new stuff...

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

I thought the new Alice in chains stuff was a little weak. I was expecting more after Jerry Cantrell's two solo albums.

Are you familiar with Hater? (Ben Shephard & Mattcameron

I dunno man, I still think they're pretty heavy - where as Pearl Jam are just AM/FM radio fodder now.
Not sure about that 'Hater' stuff - although that tune sounded a a bit like Mudhoney - no bad thing!
