A few weeks back the building where I work was having a refurbishment, in the service yard where we take in the deliveries a large skip for metal waste had been delivered and was slowly filling up with various junk, until I spied a large stainless steel sink, having run a pub and a cafe in the past I know that these things aren't cheap, I pulled it from the skip and asked if anyone minded me having it (must be the Deathskull loota in me!).

As it was covered in dirt and rust no one had a problem with me taking it, 3 hours and a lot of scrubbing later it was gleaming and as good as new. I phoned around a few companies who buy up old equipment and got offered £40, I figured i could do better and put it on Ebay.

The auction just ended and I got £210 for it. Bargain

So what things have you found and sold on or kept for yourself?

I've found a ruby and diamond ring, worth about 300.
I named it "ground score" and gave it to my girlfriend at the time.
It ended up being a good fit and didn't even need to get re-sized.

Pimms jugs. I worked security at Ascot, and they just threw 'em away. One bout of washing up, and I sell 'em on for £7 a pair.

When we were renovating our current home about 3 years ago I found a Purple Heart and some silver medallions.

The guy who it belonged to had died years earlier.

I found a military officers's training book from the 1870's whilst going through the kitchen draws, guessing it belonged to my late great-grandfather.

I once found a 2-inch mortar bomb but my father made me give it to the police.

I was going through my storage box for my Cadian FW kits I ordered in July and have had since, just not enough time to paint or work on them with classes and found a Death Korps of Krieg Commissar that I don't ever remember ordering.

Checked the invoices and he was listed on it as $0.00 <Birthday Wishes>.

3 x $100 bills on the shelf (up high above the clothes rod) in the closet of the house I still live in. Better than bones in the cellar.

I guess I don't find much. No cool stories of hundred dollar bills or unexploded ammo here.

Not my story, but a friend of mine was having a house built. The guys digging the foundation found five skeletons that turned out to be some Utes that had been murdered in the 1800's.
Construction was held up until the crime unit had cleared the age of the bones. Old town records told the rest of the story.

Found a computer in a skip the other week. complete apart from the hard drive.

One of the 1GB RAM sticks is in my machine now.

I have another computer I found in a skip (500Mhz processor 3/4GB RAM) that I use for situations that require my computer to be left on for long periods because it has low power usage and runs almost silently.

My cat got injured and fled into the ceiling so I had to cut out a large square to get to him, and low and behold I found out that some idiot created a false ceiling to cover up 100 year old copper tiles....

Well I found condoms in my ceiling, Wine in a bottle 340$ That I think was drug money but got turned into a Chaos Battleforce and a defiler and a sorceror. And some.

I found an unopened bottle of Rye from 1967. In fact, I think it is still unopened sitting in cabinet at my parents house.

Once, when a buddy's family was demolishing walls in their house for a renovation project, we found a very old glass 36 sided die (had to count it to know how many there were).
It's randomly numbered 1 - 60 with (obviously) some numbers missing, seemingly at random.

I'm building a game room in my basement. If anyone ever takes down those walls, they'll find a lot of pennies I've dropped into the walls at random, a "time capsule" under the stairs with things about what's going on in the world and pictures of our family... one old dress shoe... and, eventually, a false treasure map to where I've buried "my fortune" (or something) that I've recently been inspired to create.

When I bought this house from my aunt, we found the hidden phone cord in the basement that

I've found extra "m"s in my Wargaming!

I found an extra Leman Russ tank in my giant sprue box, that I wasn't aware I had. (I think I said this on another thread somewhere )

I once found my diginity, however, it was quick to run off again.

I found a bag of weed just lying on the street once. THAT was a good day....not a productive day - just a good one.

The tile factory I used to work at was in a bad neighborhood. After the 4th of July and New Years, I would find bullets in the parking lot and one that came through the warehouse roof. I had 4 after 2 years.

I got to talking to a maintenance foreman that had been there for 20 years and he showed me a stash of 3 dozen.

Don't people understand that they come down with the same force?
