I have acquired some Forgeworld Blood Angel etched brass. Having no experience with it in a modeling sense, I come to you with these questions.
1. Does the brass take to priming and painting?

2. Does putting on the brass straight off a sheet onto a painted model look like "Hey, he just glued some brass on that model". Does a wash help?

3. Anything else I should know?
Thank you.

I've been using the Khorne brass etchings for my Banelord, and to answer your questions:

1. They take to priming and painting very well, although be sure to file down any sharp bits from when you cut them off the frame.

2. I've glued and painted all mine, so I'm not sure, but I do think they would look a bit out of place without paint.

3. Because the pieces are extremely thin, be careful to only use a tiny drop of glue. I've made the mistake of putting down too much and it come pooling out around the edges and makes a mess.

Other than that, can't think of anything. Good luck with the Blood Angels.

I use the Blood Angel etchings also... though I've had a very difficult time with them.

In every case I've glued them on before priming. They are however very thin and the detailed-relief is quite shallow, so I've found it difficult to make them stand out and look good. I'd love to hear what other folks are doing with them.
