I know that you can throw green stuff/brown stuff in the freezer and use it later, but im wondering how much later. i have had some in my freezer for about a day now and just used it again and it seemed to work alright. So what i really want to know is the following
1. Exactly how long does it last in the freezer?
2. Does length of freeze time effect hardness/useablitiy?

holy crud! I didn't even realize you could slow the curing process by freezing the stuff. Does that mean heat will speed it up? I second this post!

Now I need to throw my green stuff in the freezer.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure freezing it increases its lifespan because I refrigerate mine and it lasts twice as long as when it just sits out.

In my experience about a week with green stuff and about 2 weeks with miliput but it also depends on how much of the stuff that you mixed if its a 70/30 mix might be longer period than say 50/50 but a good rule of thumb is about 4 days to be safe

It increases it's lifespan but does not prevent it from hardening. The hardening process is based on oxygen, so if you don't have access to a vaccum chamber you're out of luck (even when the greenstuff is in blue/yellow form it hardens, but slowly).
@romulus571
Yes you can heat it to speed up the process, I've heard of greenstuff ovens (never seen one) but don't melt the plastic!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I've read plenty of articles on modeling that show greenstuff ovens. You definitely don't want to melt anything, first and foremost. These things use the ambient heat from lightbulbs, EZ-bake oven style. Just get one of those cheap, aluminum bowl-housed clamp-lamps from a DIY store and pop it on top of a suitably sized can. Presto! One curing oven. Change the bulb or distance to the mini to change temp, cut yourself a door (hinge with tape, wire, etc)... you can go as simple or fancy as you like.

Freezing the GS os similar will help you if you want to use it later in the day, and it'll still be hard to work with.
And about the oven, I did it, and works. Expect the GS to "sweat", don't be alarmed, let it cool and wipe the condensation on it with a paper towel.
