So I'm fairly new and not really sure to look, but where is everyone finding this Storm Guardian stuff? I looked through the codex and I didn't find it. I mean I might've missed it but could someone help me out? Maybe a push/punt in the right direction?

It's an upgrade for the normal Guardians. They change their Shuriken Catapult to a Shuriken Pistol and CC weapon. They also don't have to take the weapon platform anymore and can take a couple of assault weapons like Flamers. It's in their entry.

Thanks, I can't believe I missed it.
edit: Another question what advantage do they have over the defender guardians, besides the two flamers/fusion gun? Their entry only states they get a close-combat weapons and a pistol...does the cc weapon have any stats?

Just the same as a normal CC weapon. They fight with their own Strength, but because of the pistol get an additional attack. Give them a Warlock with Enhance and they apparently become much better.

Heh, not much better from what I’ve seen. They usually only jump out of their transport to fire two flamers and get mauled in assault if anything is left.

Give the Warlock Destructor.
Jump out, 2 Flamers and a Heavy Flamer. Probably best use in conjunction with other units (like all Eldar), but it's quite a good 'shock'.

Take 20 and they should go alright against a few things, not much. I've seen them compaired to Orks.
I was thinking of a horde like way of using them, with a nearby Avatar to stop sweeping advances.
For Mech, I'd probably use either the normal ones to give supporting fire or just use Dire Avengers in a serpent.

They're fun for fluff's sake, but you'd be better off taking Dire Avengers or Defenders with a weapon platform.

I wrote up an army list a while ago that was nothing but Storm Guardians, an Avatar, and some War Walkers. I think they're hilarious.

As said, they do some nice anti-horde, what with the triple flame templates.
That's about it, though.
Or, of course, you could get two fusion guns and a singing... XD just kidding, buy some Fire Dragons already.

Eh, depends on what you need in your list.
I often don't even think of my storm guardians as a troops unit when building my list.
I think of them as a suicide anti-infantry unit.
Dire Avengers really can't do as much damage as storm guardians, especially against doomed units.
But, Dire Avengers can shoot bad guys from 18" out, which means that you can actually avoid CC with your target if they don't all die.
Flamer storm guardian can cause more damage
Dire Avengers have a better chance of surviving once outside of the transport.
