Hello Lego and mods
While searching through some older forum posts using the search function I've noticed something odd about the ordering of the search results. It seems that on each page of search results it seems to list the oldest posts at the top of the page while the most recent are at the bottom. Then each page thereafter is the same, oldest at the top and newest at the bottom. This could contribute to a few minor issues that I can think of.
First of all, at least once every few days I see some new member somehow dig up an old post that hasn't been touched in 6+ months about something that may have already been resolved or is irreverent. Of course it is the poster's fault for not looking at the date of the last reply, but I can't help but wonder if they got to that thread in the first place by the search function and clicking on the first post they saw related to the topic they searched for. Perhaps ordering them differently would prevent these.
Second is that it can make it difficult to find the search results you are looking for. Since older threads sometimes may refer to older rules or codices then those threads that appear at the top are more than likely not relevant at all. Anyone wishing to search for a specific topic may be forced to look through several pages as once again, the most recent posts appear at the bottom of every page. Not sure what kind of sorting and searching algorithm you have in place as it is, but it just seems to put them in a peculiar order.
Anyway, this isn't a rant by all means as I love this site and the members here. Just a suggestion that could perhaps help the search function of the site.
