Does the phrase 'and/or' mean i can give my scout sergeant two power weapons and how many attacks would he get on the charge

I believe it does however i have been told by several more experienced players that it does not.

Yes, you can replace the boltgun with a power weapon, and the bolt pistol for another power weapon.

But whether you can or not, it is pointless to do so.

Having two power weapons gives you the same number of attacks as having a power weapon and a bolt pistol, so all you're doing is wasting 15 points.

I thought having two of the same special close combat weapons gave you one additional attack, however , this could be my misinterpretation of the rules.

sorry if this sounds stupid ,still trying to get to grips with the game!

Having an extra CC weapon gives you an additional attack unless its a powerfist or lightning claw. You need 2 fists or 2 claws to claim the additional attack. But since the power weapon is not a claw or fist, it gets the bonus attack just from having the pistol.

Always 1 on the crazed roll.

There are certain weapons that only give you the +1 attack if you have two the same (listed on page 42, under "Fighting with two single-handed weapons") but for everything else, all you need is two single-handed weapons. They don't have to be the same.

Page 42 gives you the full run-down on how the different combinations of weapons affect your attacks.

Now I now this sounds stupid but why have the entry on page 42 saying about 'two of the same special weapons.' when the, 'normal and a special weapon' entry allready covers this. The additional paragraph on power fists would cover the other matters

if they had ommited 'two of the same power weapon 'paragraph there would be no confusion

I find it strange that i have the ability to buy another weapon from the codex and a rule from the rule book to reinforce this, but this brings no benefit whatsoever, guess this is one of those GW things

Because the section on 1 normal and 1 special doesn't cover it. If you have two power swords, you have two special weapons, not a special weapon and a normal one.

Until someone takes two power swords and then can't find a section into which the model fits.

It covers models given two power weapons for fluff reasons, or given that config in previous editions... GW do from time to time include options simply because people already have models from past editions. Bikers, for example, had access to bolt pistols or a single close combat weapon through 2 editions where doing so was completely pointless, simply because the models were made for 2nd edition and had those options as standard.

Insaniak, thanks for your patience, never thought about fluff or old editions, part of being new to this I guess!
