I havn't been playing IG long at all but I've developed a general list that I use in 750pt games. My local metagame is dominated by marines so my list is focused more in this direction.

HQ:
CCS - 2GL, AC: 70pts

Troops:
Veteran Squad - 3 plasma: 100
PCS - 4flamers, Chimera: 105
Infantry Squad - GL, AC:65
Infantry Squad - GL, AC:65

Fast Attack:
Valkyrie - Rocket Pods: 130

Heavy Support:
LRBT - Plasma sponsons: 190

Total: 725

Obviously I find ways to spend the extra 25 points in games but I figured I would post a "median" list. The Valkyrie rushes and the vets unload to take out a priority target (Necron Lords, other uber ICs, Devestators). I keep my infantry squads mostly static and stand-and-shoot. The PCS flamer rushes while the LRBT glasses any Meq squad that dares to show its face in the open.

I am looking not only for critique on my list, but also on my playing style. I am hoping to expand into 1000+ points games and need some direction.

In all I have
2 LRBT
1 Chimera (have Hydra turret)
1 Valkyrie
6ish of each special weapon
6 heavy weapon teams
converted marbo
a decent number of guardsmen
4 sentinels (magnetized for scout or armor)

If possible, it would be great if you could help me find ways to use mostly stuff I already have, but any and all suggestions help.

Actually your list is a fine, balanced small-game list, you've upgraded all the units with good weapon combinations and not blown points on anything unnecessary. Vets with plasma cost 115 though.

Some stuff you could add to bring it up to 1000 points: another LRBT, 1-2 infantry squads as used already, a unit of veterans in a chimera. It kind of depends on what you want to be facing. I would add something to the troops section first, to help in scoring games. veterans with meltaguns are a good choice because if you run into heavy armour, especially land raiders or leman russes, you need a reliable way to take them out. (if you decide on this, maybe put the meltaguns in the valk and the plasma guns in a chimera)

I would not use marbo or dedicated HWSs at such a small points level, since they're small vulnerable units, you want to be able to cover the board and challenge your opponents' ability to kill everything. Sentinels are probably a bad idea because armoured sentinels are overcosted IMO, and scout sentinels would be outflanking, and that always seems risky to me in small games.

Anyway, you could fit one naked LRBT in first (total 890 pts) then take another infantry squad (955) and you'd have to cut some points, like the plasma sponsons, to get a chimera and some meltaguns on the CCS, so they can go forward with the vets and PCS.

OR, get a melta vet squad first (895) and a valkyrie for the CCS?

Anyway, try to get in another aggressive, scoring unit and/or another LRBT, these units are very strong and useful! Hope those suggestions help.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

Thanks for the suggestions.

Another LRBT is pretty much a given considering its already assembled and ready. You bring up a good point with the melta vets. I have yet to see any armor 14 with this army but if I do, I currently have no effective way of damaging it. I agree completely about the HWS. I only ever field them as part of an infantry squad. My experience has dictated otherwise with marbo though. In small points games, certain units tend to be the centerpieces. The inability to field many redundant units means that killing one unit can seriously impact the enemy in one area. Marbo is great for laying the hurt on those Long Fangs, Sternguard, Striking Scorpions, Dark Reapers, and other strong units that singly make the enemy's backbone in small games (my LRBT would be an example as well). I like the idea of an aggressive CCS and I used to use one, but I've found that loosing use of the orders (particularly get back in the fight) can really hurt. Quad melta is good though, and I do have the models, always something to consider.

(and thanks for catching the mistake on the plasma. im away from my codex)
