I suppose you're all wondering why my posts have been scarce recently (or more likely, you haven't noticed). Anyway, the reason is because I was busy with this model. So behold, here is Primarch Alpharius Omegon of the Alpha Legion!

Not quite impressive enough for a Primarch. Primarchs were gods among men, while this guy looks like a slightly beefier Chaos Lord. A very nice conversion, but not majestic enough for a Primarch. Good work regardless.

Hmmmm...

I think (!) that Alpharius shouldn't be quite so Chaos-ified, if you know what I mean.

I think that, eventually, we'll learn that the Brothers disagreed about the Alpha Legion's choice during the Heresy, leading to a schism in the Legion, with SOME of them then 'joining' Chaos, so to speak.

Still, a nice Chaos Lord!

Good lord, but a primarch not.

The helmet looks a little too over-the-top. The Alpha Legion always seemed big on functionality.

(In Legion, he wore the same armor as every other marine in his legion.)

Thanks, but he wasn't supposed to look majestic. I based this on the Alpha Legion fluff I read, because this is my first conversion attempt and I wanted a Primarch. Alpharius seemed like the easiest to do. After all, he was supposed to be one of the smaller Primarchs, and was fond of using doubles. I hardly think that doubles could be particularly effective unless he wasn't a particularly conspicuous presence among his troopers. Also, it's much easier to impersonate someone if they wear an enormous helmet all the time than if their face is showing, correct? More to the point, I tried doing a face but sucked horribly at it. I did think that the helmet he's stepping on is a nice touch, though.
