I've had forge world vulture sitting around for quite a while now. Due to my desire to magnetise the weapons (which I never got round to), it's been weaponless for quite some time. And I couldn't really decide what weapons to give it anyway. But recently, forge world has released punisher gatling gun mounts for it, and who can say no to 40 shots a turn? (I have yet to gleam the actual rules or if the weapons are priced even slightly reasonably, but that hasn't stopped me) The forge world models are kinda expensive, so I made my own. I used the lascannon side sponsors from a predator as the main body for the gun, the gatling part was made out of the plastic tubing of cotton ear buds (my other way would have yielded gatling guns that would have been too big. Also I wouldn't recomend using that sort of tubing. The plastic that they are made out of really doesn't like superglue. It doesn't bond well, and it's really messy. If you must use these, then I suggest leaving the glue to dry overnight or something, as it takes a while to get a decent bond), the ammo drums were made out of the tube bit from the old leman russ hull mounted las cannon, and the ammo belts were made out of tank tracks glued together. Here are some pictures:

As you can see, when I assembled it all those years ago, I glued the wings on backwards. The glue instructions say that it's disolved by actetone, but I'm not going to risk anything happening to the resin. And it'd be too hard to break or saw it off.

I hope that this provides some inspiration, and that it's easy enough to see how I did it. I might put a few pictures up after it's painted, but there wouldn't be much of interest. Thanks for reading, and if there's anything that you think could be improved on, please tell.

Actually, scratch not knowing about rules and points values. Forge world have just released an update to IA1 with everything. 155 points for the entire model w. gatling guns. Should be worth its points if I come up against an infantry heavy army.

It's also only 20 shots a turn (with re-rolls as the system is "ONE twin linked punisher cannon").

A cotton bud/q-tip and some non-acetone nail polish remover along the glue seams might do the trick with the glue. Acetone will probably turn the FW resin spongey (if you soak it), but the acetone free stuff does work (just takes longer/repeated application).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Ahh, I didn't see that bit at first. That's still quite a bit of firepower, I guess, if not as much as the punisher leman russ. Probably not worth the 50 points, but should be fun to play around with.

Also, after half an hour of jamming away at the wings with a scalple, I managed to seperate the wings from the body, without horribly destroying the detail. I'm kinda weary of using chemicals to remove glue or paint, as some acetone-free nail polish remover managed to completely destroy all the hard edges and details on one of my favourite models, which had both resin and plastic.

Thanks for the advice, though.

I looked at that, and even recommended it to people several times after what I've heard about it, but I can't for the life of me find any.

Inboud...

Seeing as a Punisher is 180 points standard, it doesn't seem like an unreasonable purchase to me! (I want one...)
