If I equip a Tau Commander with "Failsafe detonator" & "Ejection system" would this let the commander explode and eject avoiding the loss of a KP? The ejection system rules state only IC's and Monats may use it but it doesn't state whether or not the IC can be in a unit.

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't think so.

I don't know what the rules for them say though, exactly. Failsafe Detonator puts an ordinance template over a battlesuit when it dies, right?

I thought the Ejection System didn't help you avoid losing kill points (only "victory points"), but I may be mistaken.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Under the couch

The Ejection System only works against shooting attacks. It's not triggered by the Failsafe Detonator.

Well, that's one mystery solved.

Obviously you can't combine these two rules, but I would just like to say, the ejection system says to "the battlesuit is replaced with a single model, representing the pilot" since the battlesuit is replaced, I think no KP would be given up for the suit until the new replacement model is killed.

If it said "place a single model representing the pilot where the suit was before losing it's final wound" then I would consider this to be like the many other rules that put new models on the table in that it creates an extra Kill Point.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Hmm, interesting.

I suppose the ejection seat does have (pretty limited) use after all.

Agreed, unlike Chronus, it does not bleed out KP, but rather makes the enemy have to kill you again to claim the Kill Point at all.

That being said, an Ejected Pilot has the Profile of a Wet Noodle.

from failsafe detonator "The character stays where he is. . . place the large blast marker centered over the character. . .and the character is removed as a casualty." Ejection system only works if the character "loses his last wound to a shooting attack that does not cause instant death" I'd say the detonator is not a shooting attack, it doesn't cause wounds, & it is Str 8 so thats double his toughness. The model is removed regardless. Not to mention that failsafe only works for fall back from assaults so the two could never happen at the same time.
