IIRC, the only caveat regarding base sizes is that the model must be placed on the base it came with or a larger base. Never go smaller though. Given that, would anyone have issue with an entire army modeled on larger bases? For example, models typically mounted on bike bases....mounted on 60mm bases? Legal with opponents consent..legal without opponents consent......thoughts?

The current rule is that you should make sure your opponent is okay with whatever type of base you use, if it's not the type of base that the model was shipped with.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

That was last edition.

The current rules simply say that the model must be mounted on the base with which it was supplied. Using a different sized base requires opponent's consent.

Having said that, most people from my experience not only won't care, they won't even notice unless you do something ridiculous.

I've had my bikes mounted on 60mm bases since 3rd edition and never had a complaint.

Well, I stand corrected there isn't anything in the current rules for base sizes! Damn, I thought I remembered that passage. I can't really expect people to get too upset about bikes on 60s (Although I'm surprised you have them mounted on them, I didn't run/encounter bikes back in the day...was that standard?). I guess I'll mount them on 60s and hope tourneys/Adepticon don't mind = p.

/Maybe it was the Adepticon FAQ that mentioned 'base it came with our larger..?' I'll have to redownload and check it out.

It's not really 'standard' ... although I've seen a fair few people doing similar.

I didn't like the cavalry bases for bikes (not really enough room, and don't fit with the rest of the army), 40mm is too small, and I couldn't be bothered making pill-shaped bases for them... so I went with the 60mm as being the most sensible option.
