I have a very sad thing to report, Bringer has sent me a PM pulling out of this RP because of constraints on his time, so on the 3rd of september regardless of how the RP is running I will post a farewell to his character.

Seeing the walls collapse and the giant insectile demons swarm from withing i am filled with a sense of dread, but reasoning to myself, they must have an leader, and to kill him, it, would be the priority. Scaning each horror in turn i find what i am looking for, one a foot taller than the others, and a row of spines from head to tail. That thing also seemed to be inflicting a heavy toll on the federation of light troops filling the breaches. Turning to the complement of archers that i am standing in, i bellow and point and the leader. And drop my hand, the fusilard of arrows aimed at the target. I too bring up my crossbow, and attempt to hit the foe with a bolt, despite the many obstacles between me, and his huge form.

The guard captain abruptly turns about in surprise, with a hasty salute S-sir, forgive I didn't know you were coming, turning to the men Troops, ATTENTION! the group snaps to attention or the best one could expect fom village militia thrown into thier task. Settle down captain there's no need for that. Everyone, at ease! I didn't come for an inspection, I came to see about your morale. the captain starts to pipe up, I hold out my hand to stop him. I know what you want to say captain I've been in your position before. Now then, I would hear from you men your qualms and issues, I know you were for the most part unwillingly pressed into this service. I am actually in the same boat, I was at first just escorting one family across this desert and here I have become your leader and your general. I can't back down now everyone is counting on me to keep them safe, but they are also counting on you. I point out into the crowd. I am not heartless, if you feel you cannot do this or you have suggestions please speak, tell me your worries and ask your questions. I will listen and try to answer.

The men look unwilling to speak out with such a powerful warrior in thier midst. One brave soul howevre speaks out.

...Yes, there are deamons here, and undead. But they are not invincible they can be killed. I've dont it myself. The same man attempted to speak, I put out my hand to stop him. Before you say anything, I will tell you this, I was not always as strong as I am now. I once stood in the same place you did with the same fears and weaknesses. I thought I couldn't get anything right... my instructors wanted to beat me out the door with my own training sword. I was the same age as a few of you now. Looking around at the faces, this wasn't yet helping much. Find your precious thing... find inside yourself the thought or ideal or person or memory that gives you strength and confidence. Hold on to it, when things become dire hold that thought in the forefront of your mind and through its inspiration find the extra power you need to defeat your enemies. pausing for a moment to let it all sink in. That precious thing will die if you fail, if the enemy defeats you, kills you they can now kill that ideal, that person that inspires you to do greater things than what is expected of you.

That alone is giving me trouble, let alone all the other things that come with you as a package deal. I cant aspire to live up to whatever expectations you have of me, not yet. The fortress's weaker defenders cant hold back the tide of federation soldiers but the honour guard of the insectoid Daemon certainly can. The only ones able to go toe to toe with them seem to be the two brothers from the south and Ranun of crisela. The three of them manage to beat the Honour guard back but not a single one actually is killed. They seem to extremely resiliant. With the outer courtyard taken by the federation soldiers now comes the daunting task of storming the keep.

Well just talking never made the world turn, Captain I'll leave you and your men to your duties. The Captain pops to attention and salutes once more Yes Sir, thank you sir. begrudgingly I suppose I won't convince you to not do that. I return the salute to the captain, turn and walk away with no defined direction at the moment but passing between a row of tents out of sight of the men.

Edon begins to chant again, still drawing power from the group of casters following him, he weaves a spell to immobilise the champion’s guards. He adds powers of ice to the spell, to seal them to the ground, and powers of earth to the spell, to make the ground absorb them. He adds Darath’s borrowed powers of life to the spell to encase them in vines, before releasing the bolts towards their targets, clearing the way for the warriors to attack the champion.
The Champion too receives his share of magical assault from Edon, spells of fire and death and doom streaming into his demonic form. The elven mage sought to weaken the daemon so that it may be banished by the warriors of Phobos.

As you walk past the last row of tents a strange blue mist forms up around you and then shifts along in front of you, it coalasces into a double line of sparkling blue orbs, about the size of a thumbnail. About 20 full told.
"HAHAHAHAHA IT WORKED!!!!!!, those are opals... I thought you may want them... they were part of my private collection I just had to summon them here."

Your power builds to an almighty crescendo.... and nothing happens, the Daemons seem to be warded against magic.

Ranun sees the light from Edon staff reach out to bind the Daemons but to no avail. The daemon cackles and this sound winds its way into Ranun's brain. His anger rises and he sprints forwards slamming his mace into the underside of the daemon who is forced to back off. The daemon swipes at him with a pair of blades But Ranun blocks them with contempt and smashes his mace down into the daemons gut, ripping a hole into the infernal beasts organ which spill to the ground. The shocked daemon tries to swing at Ranun but he growls and kicks the dameon back and swings his mace once more, ending the daemons existance with his mace through its head.

He raises his mace into the air in triumph when a pair of swords prodtrude through his chest. The blades are withdrawn and Ranun sinks to his knees as the fell champion of the Honour guard (not the overlord but his deputy) stoops over him.
A harsh grating voice issues from the daemons mandibles, barely audible through the hisses that the beast makes.
"Do you hafffff any lasssst wordssss mortaaallll?"

Ranun spits in the daemons face who promptly swings his swords through decapitating the Satyr.

Ranuns arms fly to the sides and a massive shockwave rips out and a thunderclap form above can be heard and the Daemon before him is torn to shreds as are many of the other honor guard. Ranuns body rises into the air his head reattatching.

Ranun opens his mouth and the voice that issues from him is not entirely his, it is louder and deeper but somehow more feminine

ONLY THAT YOU HAVE MADE THE GREATEST MISTAKE OF YOUR PITIFUL EXISTANCE SON OF GARUDA!!! HEAR ME WARRIORS OF THE LIGHT MY NAME IS PHOBOS AND NO MORE KNIGHTS OF MINE SHALL FALL IN THIS CITY. ONWARDS TO GLORY!!!!!"

This was probably one of the best RPGs I have ever partaken in, thanks Marta for all the work you have put into it. Next year I'm off to college, and so I doubt I will be back to having a normal life for a good five years.

It was my pleasure Bringer, thankyou for being such a driving force in this RP, we will all certainly miss you

You may want more elaborate measures on yours as I understand you have magical skills however a simple healing spell may be useful on some of them."
