When playing a normal 1500 40k game would you be happy to let your opponent use 'lucius' pattern drop pods with his BA Ven Death Company Furioso Dreads (2 of them) or would you say No thanks? Do you have to ask before using them as the opinion in my neck of the woods is they are acceptable additions as is anything non apoc in any IA book with out opponent permission? Would you allow the drop pods if he is just using normal GW drop pods?

Always ask about IA things. They are not in the relevant codex - which is where units are chosen in regular 40k games.

Using them as a normal GW drop pod should be perfectly acceptable, in any case.

As for me? I rarely have issue with whatever people want to play.

Yup only with permission, unless allowed by organizers at the tournament . Or by your regular gaming group... my Borhter and I always include IA stuff. Makes the game so much more interesting.

Only with permission (which he isn't going to get).

Funny. When this kind of thing came up around here before, people were saying only a TFG would refuse to play against IA stuff.

In a friendly game, I don't have a problem with IA stuff. Or VDR. Or Chapter Approved lists/units that haven't been updated by newer codexes.

So long as my opponent actually has the relevant rules.

It is important to know that the peat must be soft.

IA can be rather broken - or at least provide a lot of synergy to sides - so its always worth both getting permission, and showing the opponent the rules surrounding the units/vehicles being used.

For poor old me that does not know the difference between a lucius pod and a normal one? What's the difference?

We have no problem with IA stuff.

But, you must have the rules and you have to make sure your opponent knows what the stuff does beforehand.

The lucius is a dread drop pod with no weapons that lets you assault out of it.

You can't assault out of a normal drop pod.

Lucius pattern pods have assault ramps (and as such, deep-strike AND assault IS allowed).

He can use the pod, only if I get a chance to shoot it down (before it lands).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Unless it's in your specific codex, or you are using an inquisitorial allied force, in which case your codex + daemon/witch hunters, then you must ask permission.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Lucious pods are for dreadnoughts only. See IA II PDF revision.

Personally I love the deathwind pods... (deathstorms now)... they work really nicely in my drop pod BT list. My opponent always know what to expect... and act accordingly... and I never take more than 2.. .

The eye of terror.

Most IA stuff is pretty sane, mostly even slightly weak compared to the codex stuff.

However... both the special drop pods are insane. I don't think I'd want to play against either of them, and my opponent would be the TFG if he expected that I should allow them simply because he wants to use them.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?
