Priest and assistants (2) get 4+ ward (can be improved to 3+ with blessing) and ItP
gives one unit within 24" a blessing of Vaul
+1 Ward Save (including conditional wards, if no ward then gives them a 6+ ward save)
+1 Strength (does not affect ranged weapons)
All attacks are Flaming, AP (including ranged weapons)

I think this would make a welcome addition to any high elf army. It is hard to kill from shooting and magic but is beaten relatively easily in assault (two bolt thrower crewman and a strong courageous goblin). The priest is blind so ws2 (he can still feel around and hit someone, just not very good at defending) but tough because well he hits things with a hammer all day. The assistants are just normal elves that are helping him. I thought that Forger's Suit would be relatively fluffy.
The biggest thing is the MR2 for 12" around, i thought it was a pretty useful thing in an HE army, similar to stubborn for the blood cauldron, the blessings are different but useful, the first is good with PG, or if you can manage to get shield of saphery on Swordmasters and they have 4+ ward, otherwise its only 6++. +1 S, well pretty much always good. Flaming and AP gives HE a better way to take out regenerating creatures, also can effect range so RBT has 6 s4 with -3 modifier flaming. I mainly looked at the points for the Cauldron and subtracted 30-50 because it does not cause terror, attendants are much easier to get rid of in hth, MR instead of stubborn (MR worth more), blessings are different but i think equally powerful (sometimes less sometimes more depending on situation, S7 is huge against chariots but less useful than +1 attack at times, flaming can be better than KB against some regenerating monsters, 3 or 4+ ward with certain spells/units is better than 5++ but 5++ is guaranteed). Mainly the reduction is because i felt it was relatively easy to destroy with war machine hunters compared to the cauldron. Maybe it would be 120 points for Forge and 40 for Priest instead of 110 for the Cauldron and 90 for the Haq Queen. So what do the members of DakkaDakka think?

*edit was originally intending a single blessing (like cauldron of blood) and forgot but 0-1 would be better to get rid of double bubble effect. I thought MR2 would be better than ring of hotek effects as you can still cast, but its much harder to detrimentally effect the HE unit. Again i compared to cauldron which for 200 can give stubborn and +1 attack or killing blow and is even harder to get rid of in hth, plus you have to worry about terror from it.

No. 150-170pts for a 12" MR2, in addition to one of the three effects is dirt-cheap. MR2 12" Bubble means you would see people take 1-2 of them for a full-table "You have no magic" effect. If the effects could combine, you'd then see 2+ Ward Save Phoenix Guard or S5 HE Spearmen / S7 HE Swordmasters. The things can do too much for their point cost (IMO).

Also, bear in mind that the Cauldron of Blood is now a mount for a Hero - you have to devote a minimum of 200 points and one of your precious character slots to the Cauldron.
